The Community Impact Coordinator will assist in the implementation and administration of UWWC’s programs in Greater Danbury that are focused on the Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed (ALICE®) population. The CI Coordinator helps to oversee the implementation of programs that benefit ALICE in our community, working with agency providers, volunteers, and directly with the population we serve. The CI Coordinator will also oversee UWWC’s programs that distribute municipal and federal dollars to agencies providing services to those in need in Greater Danbury.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Assists in the oversight of UWWC grant making processes in the areas of Early Childhood Education, After-School Programming, Financial Stability and Food Insecurity to benefit Danbury’s ALICE population.
- Oversees the City of Danbury Social Services grant making process, including the recruitment and facilitation of citizen review teams to determine the best allocation of City funds.
- Oversees the Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) in Danbury, including the determination of how funds should be distributed to social service agencies through the local EFSP board.
- Assists in coordinating the Danbury Groceries On Wheels (GROW) Truck and provides a UWWC staff presence at GROW program sites in Greater Danbury, when needed.
- Assists with additional Danbury-based Community Impact Initiatives.
Educational Background:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.
Skills/Experience:
- Minimum of two years working in nonprofit or government agency.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to work with social service agency personnel, volunteers, and the general public.
- Meeting facilitation skills.
- Volunteer management skills.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Experience in grant making processes a plus.
