We are looking for a dynamic and compassionate individual to work on an as-needed basis as a substitute Care and Activities Specialist in our Winter Park adult day health care center, which serves adults with disabilities, dementia related disorders or other memory impairment conditions. The Care and Activities Specialist provides our members a safe, stimulating and fun-filled day by assisting in facilitating recreational and social activities daily, as well as assisting the members with personal care.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Interacting and developing positive and professional relationships with members, their families or caregivers on a daily basis
- Assisting members with activities of daily living which include toileting, ambulating, transferring, feeding and changing clothes when needed
- Assisting with meal preparation and serving snacks and meals
- Facilitating a safe working environment by performing routine housekeeping duties, reporting potential hazards and consistently maintaining the program in a safe and clean manner
- Assisting with program activities, prompting and assisting the members in participation
- Providing tours to prospective clients that effectively communicate the scope of the program
Educational Background:
Minimum of high school diploma or GED
Skills/Experience:
- At least one year of experience providing care to persons with disabilities, dementia or other memory related disorders
- An energetic creative and professional individual who will portray and promote a positive, respectful, and team-based environment
- Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the program
