The Assistant Vice President of Workplace Campaigns manages all aspects of the annual workplace campaign efforts including staff and fundraising responsibilities. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the AVP of Workplace Campaigns will drive and catalyze innovations to both maintain and help transform the organizations revenue model in order to achieve the bold missions of the United Way of Central Carolinas. This positions, working in tandem with Leadership Giving, is responsible for guiding staff in developing and executing strategies for closing business deals and raising the resources necessary to fund the United Way of Central Carolinas programs and operations.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Manage the annual campaign process, with a specific focus on industry segment accounts.
- Recruit, supervise and retain a highly effective resource development team including staff and volunteers.
- Develop and implement a strategic, multi-year and year-round resource development plan with the input of volunteers and colleagues.
- Develop strategies and activities for campaign events, volunteer opportunities, and Employer Resource Groups engagement.
- Work with the leadership team to ensure the marketing and communication messages and strategies are consistent with resource development goals.
- Help with the planning and execution of the department workflow including a yearly departmental calendar.
- Lead customer relationship management efforts and serve as a spokesperson for the organization as needed.
- Provide plans, reports and counsel as requested by the Executive Director, Board of Directors, Resource Development Cabinet, and external constituencies.
- Personally manage several large, significant accounts.
- Other duties as assigned.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s Degree Required. Master’s Degree Preferred. CFRE Preferred

- The AVP will be a visionary leader with the ability to manage in a complex environment while interacting effectively with a wide range of individuals both interdepartmentally as well as outwardly with community partners.
- The AVP interacts with every facet of the organization and performs with professionalism and excellence. The AVP has effective team and time management skills with a positive-outcomes performance attitude.
- This individual must have strategic and innovative planning ability and critical thinking skills and develop, align and execute strategies and plans through supervision of Resource Development staff.
