About Us
Mission:

MassBudget is a leading think tank advancing equitable policy solutions that create an inclusive, thriving Commonwealth.

Programs:

MassBudget, with partners and policymakers, works to eliminate poverty and advance racial and economic equity in the Commonwealth by helping to:

1. Redesign our revenue system to ensure that people and corporations pay their fair share so we can invest in the public good

2. Guarantee that all workers can count on decent wages and policies to ensure that their work life respects their needs; and

3. Invest in healthy, thriving communities by improving access to quality, affordable education from cradle to career, modernizing our infrastructure, and providing affordable access to supports and services so that everyone can be healthy and prosperous.

Research

Through evidence-based research and data, we believe that structural policy change requires informed participation. MassBudget is proud to partner with local and national leaders to build a  just, multiracial democracy.

Partners

For 30 years, MassBudget has partnered with advocates, legislators, grassroots organizations and national thought leaders to provide research and data to solve the Commonwealth’s most pressing issues.

MassBudget’s research is driven by our engagement with coalitions, advocates, and base-building organizations, especially those rooted in community and led by people of color. Working closely with our partners, our goal is to engage and empower communities with the research and data they need to fight for the just, antiracist policy solutions they deserve.

MassBudget is part of multiple national networks, including the State Priorities Partnership (led by Center on Budget and Policy Priorities), Economic Policy Institute (EPI), Institute for Tax and Economic Policy (ITEP) and is also the Massachusetts KIDS COUNT organization (supported by the Annie E. Casey Foundation and our Advisory Council).
