Just Vision is seeking a full-time Development Operations Manager (DOM). As our team prepares for the work ahead, this role is essential in helping Just Vision build the financial resources to sustain and grow our efforts and nurture a loyal and widening community of partners and supporters.

Areas of Responsibility: 

The Development Operations Manager will play a key role in strengthening and maintaining our fundraising systems and data using Salesforce and other platforms, coordinating annual mailings and ensuring timely updates and acknowledgments are sent to donors and/or prospective supporters. The DOM will also manage special virtual and in-person events in relationship to our supporter community and support Just Vision’s development team in key aspects of our donor program, including identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors.

The Development Operations Manager will report to the Executive Director and work closely with Just Vision’s operations and finance team. They will also collaborate with Just Vision’s public engagement team and will have a deep curiosity for learning and staying up-to-speed with the organization’s programs and impact in order to strengthen our development efforts. Candidates will be enthusiastic about our growing team as we continue to strengthen our development efforts.

Candidates will have passion for building the resources necessary to advance transformative social change efforts, an impeccable attention to detail, excellent oral and written communications skills, and a strong command of Salesforce, our customer relationship management (CRM) system. They will also have experience working with systems at the intersection of development, finance, and communications, including WealthEngine, Click & Pledge, Constant Contact and beyond.

Responsibilities

Development Operations & Systems Management

  • Develop, maintain and improve the efficiency and organization’s development operations, specifically as it relates to our donor and grant management system, Salesforce.
  • Ensure the upkeep, functionality, accuracy and integration of Just Vision’s development, finance and communications systems, including our online donation system (Click & Pledge), online storefront (PayPal), development related content on our cloud system (Box.com), prospecting system (WealthEngine) and mass email communications platform (Constant Contact).
  • Keep meticulous donor records, including contact and organization details, donation creation, updates, event tracking and reporting.
  • Deposit and track donations, reflecting each gift accurately and completely in Salesforce.
  • Build the operating infrastructure for our recurring gifts program and a newly established legacy gifts program.
  • Generate ad-hoc reports on Salesforce to support in prospecting, research, mailings and beyond, as needed.
  • Oversee Just Vision’s comprehensive calendar of deadlines for planning and submitting letters of inquiry, proposals, quarterly updates, mailings, reports and communications.
  • Together with the finance and operations team, perform routine reconciliations, ensuring our development systems align with and complement our financial systems.
  • Update collateral materials as needed, such as Just Vision’s pledge card, brochure, website donate page, acknowledgement letters and Click & Pledge donation language.
  • Document and update our development procedures and processes as we modify workflows and improve systems.
  • Other administrative tasks including mail pick up and sending packages.

Donor Management & Portfolio Development

  • Maintain Just Vision’s individual and institutional pipeline and MOVES management process and support the Executive Director in shaping our annual development strategy.
  • Maintain timely gift acknowledgement processes, including as well as preparing, emailing and/or mailing and tracking donor acknowledgement letters.
  • Support Just Vision’s direct mailings to our community, working closely with Just Vision’s communications team to develop segmented recipient lists, ensure seamless execution and thorough performance analysis approximately twice annually.
  • Support in identifying and cultivating donor relationships, including by preparing research memos, drafting email updates and scheduling meetings as needed.
  • Support with Just Vision’s special events in relationship to our supporter community, including developing invitations, coordinating guests and speakers, and managing relationships with venues, vendors and beyond.

Management & Internal Coordination

  • Drive bi-weekly development meetings and quarterly planning retreats, including crafting agendas and necessary supplemental materials.
  • Support with the annual audit by documenting transactions accurately and providing donor intent/donation support as requested.
  • Collaborate on team-wide development and public engagement-based projects, including fundraising campaigns and special events.
  • Interact with programmatic staff on a regular basis to maintain up-to-date knowledge of Just Vision’s activities and accomplishment across media production, public engagement and other spheres of work.
  • Manage the workflow and experience of the Development Intern; oversee and assign projects grounded in the development workshop and intersect with the public engagement team.
  • Plan annual teamwide development download to provide a snapshot of how development operations and fundraising efforts are progressing at Just Vision and to identify areas of growth and improvement cross-functionally.
Skills/Experience: 

Required Experience and Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in a full-time development role, ideally managing fundraising systems, major donor relationships and/or grants management.
  • Salesforce NPSP/Lightning or Salesforce experience preferred. Other nonprofit CRM experience acceptable.  
  • Demonstrated track record in creating and maintaining rigorous and accurate organizational systems and data.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite applications, including Word and Excel spreadsheet management.
  • Excellent writing, research and analytical skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks in a high-performance culture.
  • Impeccable judgment and ability to hold confidential matters in confidence.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to balance professionalism and warmth while maintaining a sense of humor.
  • Comfortable working independently as part of a primarily virtual team.
  • Values alignment with Just Vision’s mission.
  • Experience or exposure to the Israeli-Palestinian context and/or demonstrated interest in film and journalism, social justice, conflict resolution, international affairs or the Middle East.

The salary range for this role is between $60,000 -$80,000 commensurate with experience. Just Vision strives to offer a competitive total compensation package including health, dental, vision and generous time off. This is a full-time exempt position, ideally based out of Washington, DC, though applications from candidates across the country may be considered.
