The Zonal Program Manager (ZPM) provides strategic leadership and day-to-day management to the field Integrated Program portfolio in the assigned Zone to ensure that it is effective and meets the designated goals and objectives of World Vision, the donors and the target population. The ZPM leads the assigned Zonal Programme Team in the development, implementation, oversight and evaluation of all programming, with emphasis on strategic development, resource acquisition and quality control, as well as staff development.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Act as a Leader for the Zonal Programme Team.
  • Assist in the development of strategies for long-term or additional interventions in the assigned Zone.
  • Oversee all aspects of day-to-day Zonal Programme implementation.
  • Develop partnership relationships with local organizations and communities.
  • Act as WVSS official representative in the assigned Zone.
  • Manage public relations for the assigned Zonal Office.
  • Work with the Finance Director in Juba to support the assigned Zonal Grant/ Finance Manager to deliver appropriate financial services.
  • Work with the P&C Director in Juba to support the assigned Zone P&C Officer to deliver appropriate HR services to the Zone Programme team and to ensure the application of policies and procedures that follow WV standards using a participative and achievement oriented management style.
  • Support the Zone Supply-Chain/ Logistic Officer to deliver appropriate services.
Educational Background: 
Master’s Degree qualification in Development Studies, Health & Nutrition, Water/ Sanitation or Agriculture, public policy, conflict resolution, or similar fields preferred.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Experience in the management of relief and development work in a fragile context.
  • At least 7 years field experience in a fragile country.
  • Effective in written and verbal communication in English.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Humanitarian Operation, Peace Building/conflict resolution, Disaster Risk Reduction.
  • Management experience in an organization with at least 200-500 national and international staff.
  • Must have people management skills with ability to lead inspire and mentor subordinates to achieve highest results.
  • The position requires a systems thinker an analytical and critical thinker capable of questioning assumptions and proposing suitable and practical solutions.

Work Environment/Travel:

  • The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time.
