The YMCA of Delaware is seeking a VP of Youth Development to develop & define programs for branch & non-branch childcare & youth programs.
Under the direction of the CEO, the VP of Youth Development will be responsible for establishing and overseeing all programs, products and services for youth up to age 13. This role will develop, innovate, maintain, and define programs and services (and associated best in class quality, consistency and equity standards, metrics and measures) offered at branch and non-branch facilities for the following areas: Child Care (e.g., licensed child care, early learning, drop-in care, and Kids Zone), Day and Residential Camps, and other youth development programs.
This individual will shape the organization’s long-term strategies in program quality, safety and parent satisfaction positioning the Y as the leader in the State and enable the consistent delivery of high-quality, equitable programs and services at branches and facilities for all . The VP, Youth Development will provide a clear and actionable strategy to execute on vision for the organization both internally and externally, as set by the CEO.
- Directly supervise a diverse and accomplished group of leaders with subject matter experts in the areas of Child Care (e.g., Early Learning, Before and After School Care, Drop In Care, and Kids Zone) Day and Residential Camps, and other youth development programs
- Create a nurturing and safe environment. Ensure all staff are highly trained in child abuse prevention and executing that training on a regular basis to provide an environment safe of child abuse or neglect.
- Develop resources to expand programs and enhance family involvement.
- Monitor all department programs and services through regular visitation and out-reach to sites including development of appropriate branch level monitoring tools for youth development programs.
- Develop annual performance goals and operating budget and cascade them throughout the organization to ensure goal alignment; monitor financial reports to ensure financial targets are met and expenses are controlled
- Recruit, hire, train, supervise, mentor and evaluate all Youth Development staff.
- Proven leader and strategic thinker who can direct change management with ease.
- Strong oral and written communications and organizational skills are essential along with the ability to work with people in a supportive and collaborative role.
- Applied skills in budget development and financial analysis, reporting, strategic planning and oversight of implementation are essential.
- Proven experience in cultivating relationships with members of the community
Salary: $88,000.00 - $100,000.00
