The Building Engineer is responsible for assisting in the operation and maintenance of the National Office building. To provide an environment and services to the occupants that affords them the ability to meet the Foundation's goals.
Areas of Responsibility:
Carpentry
- Preform the carpentry duties necessary to construct and maintain building woodwork such as bins, counters, benches stairs, doors, and windows. Cubicle reconstruction and design.
HVAC
- Installs, maintains, and repairs heating, ventilating and air conditioning system. Monitor HVAC system and assure routine preventive maintenance is performed according to established scheduled. Check, repair and/or replace valves, motors, controls, switches, gauges, wiring, fans, pumps, compressors, condensers, cores pipes, and other functional components of the a/c system.
Maintenance
- Relocate employees within the building, assist them with relocating file cabinets. move office furniture to different locations within the building, maintain inside and outside cleaning and upkeep of building. Seasonal snow removal and plant pruning. Inspect restrooms are functional and clean and supplied with necessary amenities.
Plumbing
- Inspect, install, repair, and replace pipes, fittings, and plumbing fixtures to maintain the heating water, drainage system, and rest rooms of the building.
Electrical
- Responsible for assembly, installations, testing, repair and adjustments of electrical fixtures. Correct or repair light fixtures, light bulbs, circuit breakers, transformers, and generators.
Other
In addition listed, but not limited to the following:
- check work orders giving at the front desk. assist in the setup of special events. 24 hour on call for emergency duty, inspect the building grounds.
Educational Background:
Associate or Technical Degree required
Skills/Experience:
- Building Operations experience
- Universal Technician Certification and Refrigeration Operator's License
- Ability to juggle multiple projects and service demands
- Customer focused
- Organization skills
- On call 24 hours a day for emergencies (building/equipment failures) including snow removal, observe and correct any safety issues
