Greater Springfield Habitat for Humanity (GSHFH) is seeking a Full-Time Construction Manager. The Construction Manager is responsible for the overall management of all GSHFH’s building projects (new construction, rehabilitation projects, & repair projects) ensuring that all projects are completed in a timely manner and within budget. Responsibilities include project planning, leading & teaching volunteer construction crews, recruiting and training site supervisors, hiring subcontractors, coordinating building materials and supplies, obtaining occupancy certification, & final walk-through/inspections with partner families.

Skills/Experience: 
  • Available to work Tuesday – Saturday
  • Must have Management experience overseeing a variety of residential construction projects
  • Currently hold or willing to complete HFHI Construction Management Training
  • Currently hold or capable of acquiring a CSL upon hiring
  • Ability to apply construction knowledge to scheduling, coordinating and participating in general construction activities.
  • Ability to plan, schedule, prioritize, coordinate, delegate and manage multiple work activities
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with a various constituents, as well as co-workers and leadership
  • Ability to lead and motivate volunteers
  • Ability to deal with a variety of individuals and remain consistent in keeping a professional demeanor
  • Have basic mathematical aptitude to calculate building measurements, quantities, etc…
  • Ability to use technology to support construction work, MS Office Suite – Word/Excel/Outlook, Internet, etc…
  • Knack for fielding phone calls from prospective homeowners to donors and proper phone etiquette
  • Capacity to lift 50lbs or more
  • Have a can-do attitude
  • A sense of humor
  • Reliable transportation required
  • Understanding and passion for the mission & vision of Greater Springfield Habitat for Humanity
  • Understanding and respectful of the affiliates faith-based roots
Compensation/Benefits: 

Starting salary range: $40,000 - $50,000.
