YMCA of Greater Brandywine has an exciting opportunity for a fundraising professional as the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations.


The Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations serves as a senior professional on the mission advancement team and is responsible for developing and executing strategies to build partnerships within the business community throughout Chester County, PA, that meet revenue goals, raise the profile of the YMCA of Greater Brandywine, and support the organization’s long-term goals and aspirations.  The director will act as a key representative of the YMCA of Greater Brandywine to help drive awareness of the Y’s programs and impact.  With an emphasis on corporate sponsorship opportunities, the director will identify, cultivate, and solicit prospects in an assigned portfolio with giving potential between $5,000 and $50,000 and serve as the lead for the EITC program.  The director is also responsible for the planning and execution a variety of corporate special events. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  1.  Manage a portfolio of corporate and foundation prospects in support of association-wide initiatives and/or an assigned branch including: prospect research, strategy development, proposal preparation and submission, in-person solicitation, orchestration of site visits, donor recognition, and acknowledgement reports following receipt of awards.
  2. Oversee the corporate sponsorship program for the association and work with the branches to enhance corporate sponsorships across the YMCA of Greater Brandywine.  Writes proposals, stewardship reports and similar documents as necessary to achieve this goal.  Prioritize and evaluate prospects for corporate, foundation, and government grants creating a working annual calendar to meet all deadlines.
  3. Establish new partnerships and strengthen existing relationships with the corporate and private foundation sectors, as well as with Federal, State and Local governmental agencies that will result in funding for the immediate and long-term goals.
  4. Coordinate, participate and represent the YMCA at events throughout Chester County.  Serve as a liaison with chambers of commerce, service clubs, elected local and state government officials, and other community leadership andorganizations as appropriate.
  5.  Lead the EITC program and work with for-profit companies to promote the program and make the YMCA an organization of choice for EITC funding.
  6. In collaboration with other association staff, plan and execute of the corporate golf outing, the corporate partners breakfast and other special events, including Advocacy Day.
  7. Prepare monthly and quarterly progress report on foundation and corporate fundraising activities.
  8. Supervise association grant writer.
  9. Other duties as assigned by the Sr. Vice President & Chief Development Officer.
Skills/Experience: 
  1. Bachelor's degree in business or a related field, or equivalent required
  2. Five or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other not-for-profit agency
  3. Proven track record in corporate relations and contacts with area business leaders preferred
  4. Ability to direct assigned operations including volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of budgets, and program development 
  5. Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations
  6. Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations
  7. YMCA Team Leader or Multi-Team/Branch Leader certification preferred
