Our fundraising and communications work is a key element of community engagement. The Community Engagement Fundraising Manager role is critical in creating opportunities for Pride Foundation supporters to learn more about our work and the work of our partners across the Northwest, feel connected and inspired, and invite their networks to mobilize even greater resources for LGBTQ+ communities across the Northwest. 

Reporting to Pride Foundation’s Assistant Director of Community Engagement, the Community Engagement Fundraising Manager is a key position within the department. This position manages team operations and infrastructure for fundraising efforts and provides project management for major aspects of Pride Foundation’s resource development work. This position also manages fundraising events for the organization and ensures the timely and effective execution of campaigns and bulk supporter communications, including working with external vendors and stakeholders. 

Areas of Responsibility: 

The Community Engagement Fundraising Manager is responsible for activities including, but not limited to: event management throughout the year, scheduling and implementing stewardship and solicitation communications, and supporting collaboration across the fundraising efforts for new and current donors. This position has critical project management components and serves as a resource on systems integral to donor communications, project planning and events. 

In addition to serving as a representative of Pride Foundation, this role also supports and cultivates an equitable culture of philanthropy at Pride Foundation in which everyone participates in resource mobilization and outreach efforts. 
 
Events & Campaigns (50%) 

  • In collaboration with Community Engagement Directors, create an annual fund operating plan that outlines event and campaign strategy, functional goals and objectives, resource requirements, and measurable outcomes. 
  • Project manage annual fundraising events, including program coordination, tech and logistics, media presentations, and coordinating pre- and post-event communications.  
  • Manage production of key annual event in coordination with event planners and additional vendors. 
  • Provide technical and logistical support for other Community Engagement events, including donor learning opportunities and happy hour socials. 
  • Create tools and resources to support small gatherings and house parties across the region, including supporting Community Engagement Officers, hosts and host committee members in design, outreach, etc. 
  • Represent Pride Foundation at community events and fundraisers to build relationships with supporters and community partners. 
  • Create systems for identifying prospects and engaging new donors through event and campaign production, engagement of volunteers, and event followup. 
  • Develop expertise in event management tools to track registration, communications and event donations. 
  • Create guidelines, shared practices and materials that all members of CE team can use for events to ensure that Community Engagement events are aligned with Pride Foundation values.  

Department Operations (30%) 

  • Manage key operations for fundraising and cultivation events and communications. 
  • Create informed and realistic project plans and timelines for annual fund activities in collaboration with the Assistant Director of Community Engagement and other team members.  
  • Provide project management for major aspects of Pride Foundation’s resource development work, including key campaigns, fundholder mailings, and fundraising events. 
  • Assess and improve Community Engagement team practices and systems related to events, campaigns, internal and external communications. 
  • Receive and distribute Community Engagement phone calls to appropriate team members. 
  • Generate lists from CRM and collaborate with Donor Systems and Database Manager on Community Engagement data as needed. 
  • Research and manage vendors to ensure execution of department-wide projects. 

Communications (10%) 

  • Draft and edit direct mail solicitations, bulk emails, and stewardship pieces. 
  • Support Communications Manager with bulk email communications, including loading text, sending test emails and scheduling final emails.  
  • Provide functional graphic design, such as email banners, online event materials, bulk mail and website formatting. 
  • Manage and coordinate all community engagement mailings including solicitations and cultivation, working with printers and mail houses. 

Organizational Culture and Racial Justice (10%) 

  • Understand and integrate relevant components of strategic plan and commitment to centering racial justice into individual and team workplan. 
  • Commit to personal growth, learning, and transformation, taking initiative to expand your understanding of racial justice and related principles, issues, and practice and how they apply to your, and our work.   
  • Meaningfully participate in caucus groups, organizational learning sessions, and other opportunities to shape our organizational culture.  
  • Work to acknowledge, address, and eliminate individual, institutional, and structural racism and its intersections with other forms of oppression in your and our work. 
  • Actively participate in evolving the organizational culture at Pride Foundation to be mission-focused, inclusive, values-aligned, and community-centered. 
  • Grow and apply the skills and practices needed to create an inclusive organizational culture including (but not limited to): clear and kind communication, giving and receiving feedback, mutual accountability, and self-care and boundaries.  
  • Contribute to developing a culture of philanthropy at Pride Foundation by incorporating friend and fund raising as appropriate throughout work.
Skills/Experience:

  • An understanding of Pride Foundation’s fundraising strategies and a corresponding commitment to providing quality stewardship to all Pride Foundation constituents, and the ability to develop a positive working relationship with staff, volunteers, board members, donors, and community supporters. 
  • Flexibility to work some evenings, weekends, and occasionally travel. 
  • Experience managing fundraising events, in-person and online. 
  • Experience designing collateral materials 
  • Experience working with LGBTQ+ communities and/or communities disproportionately impacted by injustice, including communities of color, trans communities, indigenous communities and tribal nations, immigrant communities, rural communities, etc.  
  • Experience working within the nonprofit or foundation community. 

Location and Position Details  

This is a full time, exempt position. This position is remote and may require 20% travel within the Pride Foundation region. Candidates should live in or be willing to relocate to one of the five Northwest states Pride Foundation serves.  Pride Foundation is place-based and our residence in the region we serve is a critical part of how we lean into our values. Staff members in the greater Puget Sound region have the option to work out of our headquarters office in Seattle. Pride Foundation has a 4-day, 32-hour work week. Flexibility to work some evenings, weekends, and occasionally travel are necessary.   

Compensation/Benefits: 

Pride Foundation utilizes an equitable and competitive compensation program and salary structure that includes regular Cost of Living Adjustments and raises. For this position, the salary range is $71,000-$76,000, depending on experience. This salary is non-negotiable beyond this range to counter pay inequality and uphold internal parity for salaries.  

Excellent employer-paid benefits including: medical (includes coverage of gender-confirming health services and procedures), dental, and vision coverage, plus disability insurance, employer retirement account contribution, and option to invest in an individual retirement account. Additionally, we offer 4 weeks paid vacation, 16 wellness/sick days, 3 personal days/floating holidays, 11 paid holidays, and paid family and medical leave.
