Data Analyst Intern:

• Eligible Candidates: Graduate student, completed graduate programme

The Evidence Building team provides strategic leadership, management, and coordination for building the global evidence for WV's contribution to child well-being and ensures that evidence is fully able to be utilised for internal decision making, external thought leadership, fundraising, and global influence. The Evidence Building team's responsibilities include coordination of: global Child Well-being reporting; global child well-being indicator selection; project model development and evidence gathering; evidence translation for internal and external uses; and cutting-edge research in faith and development, disaster management, and transformational development.

The intern’s responsibilities will include:

• Carry out an analysis of the global depository of World Vision indicators to map against various categories.
• Use existing data sets available from Horizon (internal system), grants, finance and other sources to analyse and collate the data.
• Process ongoing changes in the global depository of World Vision indicators and maintain its alignment to data reporting standards.

Data and Monitoring Systems Intern:

Eligible Candidates: Recent college graduate, graduate student, completed graduate programme

• Appropriate Fields of Study/Majors: International Development, International Studies, Public Health, Public Policy, Data Analytics

The Evidence Building team provides strategic leadership, management, and coordination for building the global evidence for WV's contribution to child well-being and ensures that evidence is fully able to be utilised for internal decision making, external thought leadership, fundraising, and global influence. The Evidence Building team's responsibilities include coordination of: global Child Well-being reporting; global child well-being indicator selection; project model development and evidence gathering; evidence translation for internal and external uses; and cutting-edge research in faith and development, disaster management, and transformational development.

The intern’s responsibilities will include:

• Contribute to the development of a global monitoring system in the following ways:
• Provide review and input on current system functionality.
• Propose data validation rules to ensure that the system generates high-quality data.
• Support business process input into system design and/or changes.
• Assist in the utilisation of global monitoring data in the following ways:
• Conduct analysis of business process and programmatic data based on stakeholder requests.
• Provide input into system reports and data displays (i.e. dashboards, visualizations) to facilitate data utilisation by stakeholders across the organisation.
• Support Impact Reporting:
• Prepare and review existing data for analysis.
• Support with qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
• Develop or modify data visualisation at charts.
• Report review and editing.
• Facilitate communication with section leads.
• Other duties as required.

Grant Acquisition and Management Intern:

• Eligible Candidates: Current college student, recent college graduate, graduate student, completed graduate programme

*Please Note: Due to the scope and responsibilities of this internship, we are preferably looking for an intern who is available for both the Spring (January 27 – May 24) and Summer (May 25 – August 21) Internship Programme Cohorts. The Spring Cohort dates are adjusted only for this position due to the GAM Annual Meeting.

The Grant Acquisition and Management (GAM) team is dedicated building World Vision’s capacity to acquire and manage grants to help more children through transformational development. Grant funding has enabled us to reach about 36 million people and achieve tremendous results in the well-being of children throughout the implementation of 943 projects in 67 countries across seven regions were we operate. It is our commitment to deepen our impact in rural communities while expanding our presence in fragile contexts. One of GAM’s key partners is the Grant Solutions team at WVUS. Grant Solutions exists to support WV staff who are implementing and managing grants. Their Capacity Building team develops easy-to-use tools for working on grants. They provide training, resources, and consultation focused on mitigating WV's risk and ensuring compliance with donor regulations and WV policies. They also help WV staff prepare for audits, and walk with them to find solutions when things go wrong in our grant projects. As part of WVUS Strategic Solutions, Grant Solutions shares in a commitment to finding the simplest path possible to keep our promises in grants.

The intern’s responsibilities will include:

GAM Annual Report:

• The GAM Annual Report shares the achievements of the GAM team over the previous fiscal year (FY) for everyone to celebrate. The GAM intern will be responsible for gathering content, organising content into a booklet, drafting report, producing final draft and printing report which shares the achievements of the World Vision Partnership.

Success Story Competition:

• The GAM team hosts an Annual Success Story competition to gather stories from our national offices that share the impact of our programming. For this objective the GAM intern will partake in training on foundations of the Success Story, coordinating the competition phases, communication with Judges and editing and packaging of top 10 Success Stories.
• GAM Annual Meeting – May 18-22, Nicosia, Cyprus.
• Join in attending and coordinating the GAM Annual Meeting where they will be the point person for details, questions, requirements, coordinating visa needs, coordinating attendee information with hotel and details/logistics.

Partnership with Grant Solutions:

• Work with Grant Solutions Capacity Building team to align the GAM Annual Meeting priorities with the development of GAM capacity building resources and other supporting materials.

Resource Development:

• Assist in the research, revitalisation and editing of essential training materials to be used for grant management and acquisition settings across the WV partnership. For example: Desk Guides, Proposal Design Tools and Resources, Online Toolkits, New Donor Guidance.
• Assist in the planning, design and delivery of face-to-face and online training for grant staff. For example: Leading sections of face-to-face refreshers for grant programme, finance and legal contract staff, leading grant refreshers online and creating interactive exercises and other content to be used in future capacity building at WV.
• Create vibrant presentation materials including online content, videos and web- parts to be used in grant management websites, training and reporting materials.

Humanitarian Research Intern:

• Eligible Candidates: Graduate student, completed graduate programme
• Appropriate Fields of Study/Majors: Humanitarian Studies, Development Economics, Epidemiology, Nutrition, Statistics

The Evidence Building team provides strategic leadership, management, and coordination for building the global evidence for WV's contribution to child well-being and ensures that evidence is fully able to be utilised for internal decision making, external thought leadership, fundraising, and global influence. The team includes functions for data standards and collection systems for global level reporting and monitoring of progress and impact across the organisation; functions for setting standards and communicating global level evidence-of-impact; and sets the agenda for the organisation's global evidence agenda.

The intern’s responsibilities will include:

• Carry out desk based study of the role of research in international NGOs (humanitarian and international development NGOs) that will provide a current and future trend picture of the investment in research, innovation, research and development (R&D) across INGOs (staffing, funding, research programmes); similarly of public donors (USAID, DFID, Australia, Canada) and of major research trusts and funds (e.g. Global Challenges).
• The purpose of the report will be to guide World Vision International in its strategic planning and investment in research-based evidence. This requires the ability to do literature searches, reviews, analyse funding trends, and think strategically.
• Support ongoing research projects managed by the Evidence team, particularly two humanitarian research projects in South Sudan and Uganda (on gender based violence and child-protection). This will mean providing project management and administrative support (coordinating research team meetings, preparing donor reports). This will provide a good opportunity to learn how INGOs and research institutions collaborate, how humanitarian research is actually achieved (challenges, practicalities), and work directly with an international research team.
• Apply strong project management skills, attention to detail, and good English writing proficiency.
