Under Skills to Succeed (S2S), a global program supported by Accenture, Save the Children addresses the global youth unemployment crisis. S2S assists 60,000 at-risk youth, ages 14-24, to acquire the skills and competencies they need to get a job or build a business, thereby breaking the inter-generational cycle of poverty. We work alongside young people, local NGOs, governments, and the private sector in multiple countries (China, Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam and Mexico) to design and deliver market-relevant skill building opportunities. We also enhance the quality and reach of job placement services that link youth with opportunities to apply new skills and improve their prospects of securing safe and decent work.
The Program Quality Fellow will be an important contributor to helping to set and reach quality standards in planning, implementation, and managing awards, as well as to helping raise visibility of Save the Children as a thought leader in the youth employment field.
The Collaborative is the outgrowth of the 2018 Evidence to Action (E2A) Forum: The Future of Work for Deprived Youth hosted by Save the Children, in partnership with BRAC and J-PAL, in Washington, DC on Sept. 24, 2018. The collaborative gathers international NGOs to improve coordination and collaboration on research on youth employment and using research to improve programming.
