The Specialist for Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) will support Save the Children’s US Programs (USP) M&E team, which monitors and evaluates USP’s disaster, response and recovery and rural education programs. Because of the diverse programs in USP’s portfolio, the Specialist will help the M&E team collect data in settings ranging from homes in remote, rural communities to cities recently affected by a natural disaster. The Specialist will be the M&E team’s data wrangler: coordinating the team’s smaller program monitoring, survey and qualitative-data collections; managing, cleaning and analyzing both quantitative and qualitative data; and creating data visualization tools including graphs and tables; as well as identifying themes in qualitative data that will provide insight into programs’ performance. This is a great position for someone looking to gain experience collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data in a wide variety of contexts, who is willing to do entry-level work, but will also be excited to take on new challenges.
The Specialist for Monitoring and Evaluation will oversee small-scale data collections and support data analysis and reporting on behalf of the Monitoring and Evaluation team. Under supervision of the Director of Monitoring and Evaluation, the Specialist will:
- Oversee small-scale program monitoring data collections. This will include providing technical assistance to field staff, managing data submissions, and data checking, cleaning, and analysis (30%)
- Administer surveys, which will include online/paper survey distribution, copying, and scanning, as well as tracking survey submissions (30%)
- Analyze and visualize data as well as write reports (10%)
- Coordinate and execute qualitative research, analyze qualitative data and report out on findings (20%)
- Other duties as assigned (10%)
- Intermediate Excel skills including facility with formulas, pivot tables and filtering tools
- Strong data visualization skills: ability to create graphs and tables that clearly communicate findings

Preferred Qualifications
- STATA programmer
- A Bachelor Degree in a field requiring significant quantitative data analysis coursework
