FHI 360 seeks a qualified candidate for the position of Senior Technical Director for MNCH/FP/RH for an upcoming USAID-funded global project, MOMENTUM-Moving Integrated, Quality Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health and Family Planning and Reproductive Health Services to Scale.

The Senior Technical Director for MNCH/FP/RH will provide overall strategic direction and technical leadership for the quality and provision of clinical and preventive health services to meet the needs of populations in country programs supported by MOMENTUM Round 1, support project staff in the field to strengthen the capacity of host-country counterparts to implement evidence-based and high-impact services, and evaluate the quality and outcomes of healthcare. The Senior Technical Director for MNCH/FP/RH will collaborate and coordinate with the technical team leads of Momentum Round 2A to ensure that the most up-to-date standards and guidelines are in practice and provide global leadership with USAID and other international bodies.

Educational Background: 
Master’s Degree or its International Equivalent in Clinical or Public Health
Skills/Experience: 
  • Demonstrated international credibility as a leader for design, implementation, and strengthening of integrated health service delivery, training, supervision, and quality improvement systems;
  • Has lived and worked in low- and middle-income countries for at least 5-7 years, with 2-3 years being in a fragile setting (can be part of the 15 years’ experience in international health programming);
  • Strong interpersonal and capacity-building skills including training, mentoring, and coaching skills;
  • Articulate, professional and able to communicate in a clear, positive manner with clients and staff; and
  • Fluent English oral and written communication skills. Fluency in an additional language is preferred but not required.
  • Typically requires 10+ years of experience; (15) fifteen years preferred in international health programming, including at least ten (10) years’ experience in senior-level clinical/technical positions and experience designing, implementing, teaching, and/or managing integrated MNCH/FP/RH clinical and preventive service delivery, at facility and community level, and public or private sectors, with at least five (5) years doing this in countries with fragile settings;
  • Has demonstrated experience in engaging health-focused host country counterparts in both development and humanitarian settings, and training and supporting service providers and supervisors in public and private sector health services;
  • Experience with USAID requirements and experience working in an international NGO environment desirable;
