PSI’s Human Resources Department is the organization’s cultivator of talent experience, employee development, and total rewards. We constantly focus on nurturing a positive employer brand both externally and internally with prospective candidates and in PSI colleagues’ minds and hearts. We’re responsible for people – everything from recruitment, hiring, onboarding, benefits, performance management and career growth. Our customer centric team balances bringing the fun while keeping it real to achieve our ultimate purpose of finding the best people and keeping them by creating an environment where they thrive and do their best.
PSI is seeking a Senior Manager, Global Learning and Development to drive the development of PSI’s next generation of learning to grow our leaders, hone the technical skills of our employees, and position our workforce for the future.
You’ve got the passion, energy, and creative intuition to lead everything related to developing PSIers through leadership and employee development programs. Your team is focused on the ultimate goal of ensuring that the organization actively learns from its cutting-edge programs in the field and manages its knowledge at all levels using state of the art processes, tools and technology to maximize impact on global health policy and practice. You will:
Take the Lead
- Think big to create PSI’s strategy for leadership and employee development programs that align organizational strategic needs with the right talent. Drive them forward in partnership with the Chief Human Resources Officer and the human resources team.
- Manage the design, development and deployment of programs that help country offices, departments and individuals understand how their career can grow and evolve at PSI.
Strengthen our Leaders
- Translate business needs to ongoing leadership development for PSIers. Oversee our Great Leaders and Managers Programs. Determine how to sustain and deepen learning related to PSI’s Align, Invest, and Model (AIM) leadership principles.
- Drive strategic conversations on talent development with Executive and Senior leadership. Build strong partnerships with business leaders to boost employee engagement and business outcomes. Partner with executive, regional, and country levels of leadership to align learning and people to achieve outcomes.
Hone our Technical Skills
- Develop technical learning programs that align with the PSI culture and international development context. Pilot multiple iterations, learning from each from PSIers feedback and working to create the next version of best-in-class.
- Develop an evidence base that includes metrics and indicators showing impact and progress with technical development programs. Translate progress through analytics on impact, employee engagement, retention and/or employee satisfaction. Drive measurable results to prove what works (and what doesn’t) with our technical development programs.
Cultivate Career Paths
- Partner PSI leadership and HR teammates to generate and manage career paths for priority roles while also embedding how PSIers can get there through on-the-job, social, and formal learning.
- Develop a network of learning professionals across PSI and the international non-governmental organization (INGO) community to leverage best practices and technology to design and deliver learning experiences at scale globally.
The candidate we hire will embody PSI’s corporate values:
- Measurement: You use hard evidence to make decisions and guide your work. You set clear goalposts in advance and explain clearly if you need to move them.
- Pragmatism: You’ll strive to deliver the best possible result with the resources available. You won’t be paralyzed by a need to make things perfect.
- Honesty: You own your mistakes and are open about your shortcomings – it’s the only way you’ll learn and improve.
- Collaboration: You’ll quickly establish a mental map of whom you can rely on for what, on your team, at headquarters, and in our country offices – if you try to do it all yourself, you won’t succeed.
- Trust: You accept limits to your sphere of control and give colleagues the benefit of the doubt.
- Commitment: You are in it for the long-haul and want to grow with the organization, just like PSI serves its consumers and partners with host-country governments through thick and thin.
