PSI seeks experienced candidates for the position of Senior Director of our newly established Acceleration Market Group. In 2018, PSI realigned the way it groups countries to differentiate the support provided to countries consistent with their market characteristics and opportunities. The Acceleration Market Group includes a set of diverse countries, identified in PSI’s global operating model review, with tangible market opportunities to deliver on universal health coverage at scale. Countries in this grouping include Bangladesh, India, Kenya, Myanmar, Nigeria and South Africa. While the current portfolio is dominated by traditional projects, the aim is to proactively seek non-traditional funding and projects that can complement government efforts to reach UHC. The Senior Director should have significant management and international experience, an interest in private sector approaches to development, relevant language skills, and be capable of thoroughly understanding market failures and opportunities and acting on them, while keeping in mind the aim of getting quality, affordable health care closer to consumers. The candidate will demonstrate an appetite for innovation and change, while minimizing risk to PSI. Given the diverse identities of the countries in this group, the Senior Director will need to define a common vision and motivate the leaders in countries to work toward that vision. The Senior Director will be responsible for establishing a program management team, as well as defining a differentiated model to support the Market Group. The Senior Director will also be responsible for working closely with the Strategy team and the Primary Care & Innovation Technical leader (still to be recruited) to support the emerging needs of these countries in positioning for and delivering with excellence.
We want someone who can provide programmatic oversight and lead overseas programs and international staff as well the program management team based in Washington DC.
