FHI 360's Global Connections Department designs and implements academic, professional, cultural, and youth programs participants from around the world. The Senior Program Officer will report to the Director of Academic Programs within the Global Connections Department and will support the Academic Programs team in the implementation of the Tomorrow’s Leaders Study Abroad Oversight, Monitoring, and Support Program (TL Study Abroad), and other duties as assigned.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Support the planning and logistics for the DC-based Fall Closing Conference (to take place in November 2019) and the DC-based Spring Orientation (to take place in January 2020);
  • Lead the renewal of service and consultant agreements for the TL Study Abroad program;
  • Guide TL Study Abroad program staff in the creation and administration of service and consultant agreements;
  • Lead targeted outreach to U.S. universities for the Request for Expressions of Interest for the University Scholarship Host Opportunity;
  • Draft evaluation rubrics for the University Scholarship Host Opportunity;
  • Collaborate with the Director of Academic Programs and Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist on quarterly and end of semester reporting (including data auditing, compiling reporting inputs, copyediting, preparing draft reports); and,
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
University degree (Bachelor’s minimum, Master’s preferred);
Skills/Experience: 
  • At least 8 years’ relevant professional work experience;
  • Russian proficiency required;
  • Experience with the Department of State (DOS) required.
  • Experience with creating and delivering short term training programs (preferred);
  • Knowledge of and experience with project management, monitoring and evaluation, and contracts management;
  • Strong organization and communication skills;
  • Ability to provide guidance / mentorship to participants with diverse backgrounds;
  • Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment when determining appropriate action.

Typical Physical Demands:

  • Typical office environment. Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; ability to lift 5-50 lbs.
