The FHI 360 Global Connections department engages with a diversity of institutions and individuals in the United States and around the world to strengthen professional, cultural, youth and academic exchanges, and educational/training linkages. A growing area of work includes on-line and third-country participant trainings that focus on professional and institutional development in a broad range of technical areas.
The TACL Program, which primarily focuses on child labor-related issues, provides trainings and civil society capacity building activities for stakeholders in the MENA and/or SCA regions. The current funder is the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor; however, this program may also receive funding from other sources. We are seeking applications for a Program Officer II with a primary responsibility for supporting project capacity-building activities and providing operations/procurement support across all project activities.
- Support Online/ Third-Country Trainings: Provide administrative and programmatic support for the implementation of online and third-country trainings, which includes but is not limited to collecting draft curricula and training materials from trainers; providing detailed training readouts; assisting with participant communications when needed; leading travel and training logistics for third-country trainings; and providing onsite logistical support for third-country trainings, as needed;
- Program Procurement: Support selection of training and curriculum development consultants; create and finalize consultant agreements in collaboration with Senior Program Officer and FHI 360 contracts team; monitor select consultant activities, as assigned, including tracking consultant timelines, deliverables, and budgets; review and process consultant payments; and provide general procurement/administrative actions, as needed;
- General Program Support: Provide general research and troubleshooting support for team; ensure all recorded/tracked data is accurate and meets program monitoring and reporting needs; draft, write and edit client report sections, as requested; and provide translation of documents, as needed;
- Collaboration/Communication: Maintain professional standard of communication with colleagues, consultants, and beneficiaries; and ensure work style contributes to team building and a professional environment where colleagues can work together productively; and
- Business Development: Participate in business development activities, including conducting research, writing, and editing (as necessary) for proposals.
- Demonstrated understanding of MENA and/or SCA regions and their cultures;
- Experience with training or curriculum development;
- Experience in a fluctuating work environment with constantly changing needs and demands;
- Ability to work independently as well as within a diverse team;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Ability to analyze and interpret data and prepare reports;
- Strong organizational skills, including task and time management;
- Excellent written and spoken English language skills;
- Fluent in Persian, Tajik, or Dari; and
- Prior work experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO) desirable.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- Professional experience/familiarity with child labor-related issues;
- Knowledge of and experience working on issues related to child labor; and
- Experience with on-line education format and technology.

- Typical office environment. Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; ability to lift 5-50 lbs.
