This position is part of the Academic Programs Team within the Global Connections Department, which designs and implements academic leadership exchanges, scholarship programming, and university partnerships. We are seeking a Program Officer I to support the Academic Programs portfolio, included activities related to current and future English Access Microscholarship Programs directly funded by U.S. Embassies.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Serve as liaison with select U.S. Embassy staff to ensure timely submission, review, and approval of project proposals, service agreements, budgets, payments, and reports;
- Complete administrative tasks in support of core project operations such as setting up and reviewing education program providers, initiating and tracking fund disbursements, and processing and reviewing program reports;
- Support the design and implementation of projects in the Academic Programs portfolio
- Collect, analyze, and manage programmatic and financial data of local implementing partners to ensure program efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability, as well as compliance with sponsor requirements and internal and external regulations
- Ensure integrity of project data though use of tracking tools and adherence to documentation protocols;
- Help to produce and maintain general project materials, including but not limited to internal process outlines, standard form templates, and standard communication templates;
- Coordinate travel and other logistics for Access exchanges as necessary; and
- Other administrative duties as assigned.
Educational Background:
Bachelor's Degree or its International Equivalent - Knowledge/Information Services, Communications, Education, Environment, Health, Behavioral, Life/Social Sciences International Development, Human Development or Related Field.
Project Management (PM) Certification preferred.
Skills/Experience:
- Typically requires a minimum of 2-5 years’ experience with public health program management, US Government rules and regulations.
- Articulate and professional and able to communicate in a clear, positive fashion with clients and staff.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English; fluent in host country language as appropriate.
- Prior work experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO), government agency, or private organization.
- Prior experience using Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
