This position is an opportunity to be part of a new team of Transition Market Group Countries at PSI.  PSI is building a team who can support creative, new ways of shaping health markets and shifting policy and funding.

PSI seeks a Program Coordinator to support this Transition Market. The Coordinator is a key member of department, whose mission is to deliver high-quality, demand-driven services to PSI’s program management team and our field programs, helping to ensure financial accountability, technical integrity and programmatic success. This position is based in Washington DC and entails occasional overseas travel.

Areas of Responsibility: 

The Transition Market Group Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting the department’s portfolio of countries, reporting to the team’s Senior Program Manager (Sr. APM). Duties will include but are not limited to the following responsibilities:

  • Ensure smooth financial and programmatic execution of awards, including monitoring of agreement modifications, outstanding commitments, and payments in coordination with the Sr. APM, Program Manager and other departments as necessary;
  • Support in organizing, editing and filing programmatic and financial deliverables;
  • Facilitate process flows and adherence to PSI policies, including timely distribution of new policies and procedures to the field;
  • Manage contractors and vendors, ensuring accurate set up and timely payments;
  • Assist with new business development (NBD) opportunities, providing support to ensure adherence to NBD quality standards.
  • Support the Financial Analyst as needed with subaward management, donor invoices, or other tasks;
  • Oversee and prepare the labor charging guidance for the department, in coordination with the Sr. APM, Program Manager and Financial Analyst;
  • Support onboarding of new staff in PSI processes and procedures;
  • Connect team members to resources in headquarters and at the country level;
  • Serve as the focal point for external relations and communications, capturing success stories for external publication and supporting the regional team with strategic communications
  • Serve as the focal point for 1-2 countries and/or programs as needed.
  • Support the organization of meetings including venue, catering, transport; and
  • Fulfill other programmatic, financial, and administrative functions as required.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject (Public Health, International Development)

The basics:

  • At least two years of prior work experience in a fast-paced office environment;
  • Highly proficient in Spanish (speaking, reading and writing).

  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and PowerPoint),
  • Strong quantitative skills, with emphasis on working with budgets and spreadsheets;
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills with special attention to detail and timeliness;
  • Proven ability to develop routines to manage large workloads and organize work efficiently;
  • Readiness to interact with a variety of people and assume diverse duties and tasks;
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States. PSI will not consider work visa sponsorship for this position.
  • The successful candidate will be required to pass a background check.
