PSI is seeking a Procurement and Logistics Officer to provide its social marketing programs in developing countries with reproductive health, child survival and malaria health commodities, related healthcare items and other project needed deliverable such as IT equipment and vehicles. The Procurement Officer will report to the Senior Purchasing Manager, and will be based in Washington, D.C.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Liaise with field offices to determine procurement needs and appropriate delivery schedules;
- Liaise with global PSI staff to provide regular status reports to field offices, and coordinate scheduling and share information on orders;
- Support the process for quality checks at the field and HQ levels
- Be responsible for “Procure to Pay” cycle for procurement activity; including:
- Manage bids for commodity purchases in accordance with appropriate donor government regulations including bid opening and evaluation preparation
- Draft contracts and raise Purchase orders
- Ensure that all items procured meet appropriate quality standards;
- Draft and/ contribute to the waiver request process
- Provide short term technical assistance and capacity building to field offices and HQ staff;
- Provide regular status reports to field offices, and other customers;
- Other duties as necessary to support PSI’s global health impact;
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree preferred

The basics
- At least 5-7 years experience in procurement, preferably in pharmaceutical and allied health product procurement
- CIPS or CPSM certification desired
- Working knowledge of public procurement regulations.
- Have experience with developing systems for Vendor Evaluation
- Progressive understanding of strategic sourcing
- Firm knowledge of overall supply chain operations
- Exceptional communication skills
- Strong computer skills, experience with Excel and Access desirable
- Interest in international development and working with multiple countries across time zones and culture; Intellectually curious individuals encouraged to apply
- Working knowledge of Spanish or French is highly desirable.

- Must be authorized to work in the United States. N.B. PSI will not consider work visa sponsorship and relocation expenses will not be covered for this position.
