FHI 360 is seeking applications for a Partnerships Manager for an anticipated project in Guatemala, focused on improving the health and nutritional status of women and children in selected communities of the Western Highlands which will result in reductions of stunted children and maternal and child morbidity and mortality, as well as keeping low the prevalence of anemia and micronutrient deficiencies. This will occur as the result of improving service delivery and strengthening health systems, especially of human resources for health (HRH) in Guatemala. The Partnerships Manager will be responsible for developing and overseeing partnerships and sub-grants with a range of stakeholders, including the private sector, other donors, academia, civil society organizations, and faith-based organizations.
The position will be based in Guatemala City and will report to the Chief of Party. Recruitment is contingent upon successful award of the project and the selection of the final applicant is subject to USAID approval.
- Lead the identification, design and implementation of strategic partnerships aimed at achieving and sustaining project goals
- Develop partnerships and ensure effective coordination with stakeholders, including the private sector, academia, civil society organizations and faith-based organizations
- Engage stakeholders in defining health and nutrition problems and creating solutions, appropriately utilizing their varied expertise and perspectives
- Collaborate with partners to develop and execute work plans and monitor progress against agreed upon objectives
- Coordinate issuance of sub-awards; initiate, coordinate and undertake post-award conferences for new sub-awards
- Provide acquisition and assistance training to staff and implementing partners
- Review reports from partners for completeness, accuracy and compliance within FHI 360 policies and donor requirements
- Directly supervise Contracts and Grants staff, mentor, train and complete annual work performance evaluations
- Support development and capacity-building of local institutions
- Facilitate communication and relationships between the project and stakeholders. Keep stakeholders informed of successes, challenges, and lessons learned
- Represent the project at forums, meetings, and conferences, promoting dialogue and sharing of project learning and feedback
- Stay informed of stakeholder investments and interests related to health and nutrition in Guatemala. Share information and/or present analyses to stakeholders and the project as needed to inform program and strategy decisions
- At least 5 years of experience in administrative and financial management of large-scale, complex, international development assistance programs
- Knowledge and experience working within the health sector; experience working in on USAID-funded projects preferred
- Demonstrated track record of working in teams and fostering partnerships, particularly with the private sector in the areas of health and nutrition
- Experience with a USG cooperative agreement preferred
- Demonstrated ability to create and maintain effective working relations with host country government personnel, stakeholders, NGO partners, and international donor agencies
- Fluency in English and Spanish
- Ability to work independently and manage a high volume work flow
- Relevant computer software skills, including at a minimum, MS Word and Excel
