Manager, Benefits and HRIS

We are looking for Benefits and Human Resources Information Systems Manager to help us support our staff based in the United States and overseas understand the best benefits options for them.  You will work with a diverse work population as you analyze and evaluate programs, gather market information, and keep senior managers informed of the best options available. Using your exceptional analytical skills, initiative, and follow-through, you will work with vendors, brokers, and outside contacts and will collaborate with HR Business Partners on implementing HR transactions.

In this position, we require a detail-focused individual with strong experience and understanding of benefits, compensation and HRIS who can work equally well with numbers and people and operate both independently and within a team. 

Areas of Responsibility: 

Benefits Administrator

  • Administer the overall Health and Welfare Benefit Programs. 
  • Liaise with insurance brokers and external benefit vendors. 
  • Review/reconcile monthly benefits statements and prepare payment invoices. 
  • Manage company-wide communications regarding benefit-related issues. 
  • Review and determine employee benefit practices by benchmarking best practices, researching industry and employment trends, and other organizational goals. 
  • Organize annual open enrollment. 
  • Prepare analysis for employee pension committee.

HRIS

  • Liaise with Information Technology Department to process data collection and HR reporting requirements as needed. 
  • Manage and oversee HRIS through development and modification of system requirements. 
  • Provide HRIS training to department staff as needed.

Compliance 

  • Review job descriptions for FLSA evaluation. 
  • Ensure all benefit plans are in compliance with state and federal statutes. 
  • Administer federally regulated statutes including FMLA, ADA, and COBRA and ensure compliance with company policies. 
  • Complete and submit compliance reports relating to workforce planning: AAP reports, EEO-1, etc.

Records and processes 

  • Responsible for maintaining all benefits records. 
  • Develop/maintain SOPs and processes for all areas of responsibility.
Educational Background: 
BS degree in HR or related field; Master’s degree desirable (but not required).

The basics 

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a compensation and benefits role. 
  • Role model for the PSI Values (Measurement, Pragmatism, Collaboration, Commitment, Honesty and Trust).
  • Knowledge of FMLA, ADA, COBRA, healthcare reform, and health and welfare plans. 
  • An understanding of 403 (b) plans preferable, understanding of retirement plans 401k, or pension plans required.
  • Experience with HRIS programs. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; strong Excel skills. 
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail; ability to review and audit data.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to anticipate and meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to apply and interpret technical principles and techniques.
  • Sound spreadsheet skills and thorough knowledge and experience with HRIS systems.
  • References will be required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States. PSI will not consider work visa sponsorship for this position.
