The Award Operations and Metrics Manager will work across departments in International Programs as well with as counterparts in other divisions to drive Award Management Performance Improvement to achieve operational excellence. The Manager will be responsible for managing a portfolio of private awards, ensuring donor expectations are met and programs are successfully implemented. The position is also responsible for tracking and analyzing key award management metrics. The Manager will play a key role in identifying and developing Award Management process improvements and assist in capacity building and onboarding of new Award staff. The Award Operations and Metrics Manager role and provides broad exposure to IP scope as well as close collaboration with Award Management functional experts was well as capacity building professionals.
Award Metric Tracking and Reporting 40%
- Track, analyze and communicate key award management metrics, lead process improvements to drive change.
- Develop and produce monthly Award Metric Dashboard to share with Agency leadership
- Monitoring closeout progress, advising on more complicated closeouts, to ensure active awards are closed within the target date and agency closeout compliance requirements are adhered to.
- Develop recommendations for award closeout process improvement focusing on partner closeout.
- Create and maintain award metric key performance indicators on SharePoint
Award Management 40%
- Monitor and manage a portfolio of Private (Development Designated), multi-thematic awards implemented by Save the Children International and other Save the Children members
- On a monthly basis, review the funds available report to track and update revenue
- Complete all data entry and workflow processes to ensure funds are properly managed
- Negotiate, prepare, and process amendments and budget modifications as necessary.
- Ensure timely, accurate and effective communications to donors
- Prepare and manage sub-grant agreements as needed
- Monitor rate of award spend and coordinate with Finance counterparts to amend available budgets at year end
Award Capacity building (20%)
- Support International Program Group business teams and Save the Children International Country Offices on key Award Management processes inclusive of identification and promotion of best practices, process guidance, agency standards on key award management elements, as well as standardized tools and training
- Maintain the Award Management library – this includes ensuring information (policies, guidance and tools) are up to date and accessible.
- Lead a monthly Award Cycle Process working group which includes co-chairing the meeting, compiling notes, and leading on mini Award Management continuous improvement projects
- Maintains the Award Management e-learning curriculum in collaboration with Human Resources– ensuring that the materials in the modules are up to date per changes in AM business process, and tracks and prepares reports of completion of training by new and current Award Managers
- Award Management short term assignments may include travel to support Save the Children International Country Office in support of the movement wide Award Management Reinvestment project goal of shifting tasks closer to the field and improving to CO award management capacity
- You have a minimum 3-5 years' experience in award management, financial analysis, or related field
- Professional level of specialized knowledge to manage complex tasks, programs or projects.
- Strong knowledge of Excel
- Ability to create and implement project plans with management support
- Proven ability to create metric and reporting tools and dashboards
