NRDC seeks a Learning Community Coordinator to manage SPARCC’s Learning Community, the platform for interaction, technical assistance, shared-learning, and best practices for activities that help build capacity in six regions across the country to achieve greater racial, health and climate equity. The Coordinator will work deeply with the six SPARCC locations (referred to as sites), NRDC’s SPARCC Director, and broader SPARCC team, to manage and implement learning community activities. We seek a creative, strategic thinker with demonstrated imagination and flexibility.
The Learning Community Coordinator will report directly to the NRDC SPARCC Director, who is based in Denver, CO. The position would ideally be located in Washington DC, but can be considered in New York, Denver or other NRDC office locations.
- Develops structure and suggested curriculum offerings for the Learning Community in consultation with NRDC SPARCC Director and team
- Designs and implements shared learning activities: webinars, in-person convenings, peer-to-peer site visits, and other activities in consultation with peer Program Director and Coordinators. This includes developing agendas and content, securing local participation, speakers, and other detailed logistics
- Develops and manages the platform for communication with SPARCC sites, technical assistance providers and other resource partners as needed, i.e. listserve and/or resource website.
- Organizes roundtables and events within the SPARCC network to discuss issues shared by multiple sites
- Assists in developing technical assistance roster and coordinating with content-level experts
- Develops and manages the budget for in-person convenings and other Learning Community activities
- Ensures timely follow-up from network engagement with sites
- Oversees SPARCC learning community consultant(s), handles contracts and invoices, and grant agreements
- Presents progress reports on a regular basis to and collaborates with SPARCC Management Team
- Maintains and updates learning community documents, resource library and other initiative support as needed
