We are seeking a dynamic, organized advisor who thrives and is energized by international employee relations. The successful candidate will assist leaders and HR Business Partners in managing employee issues and concerns including company policy interpretation, corrective action, investigations and related compliance.  This full-time position is based in Washington, DC, reports to Director of Human Resources, includes up to 20% international travel.

The successful candidate will assist leaders and HR Business Partners in managing employee issues and concerns including company policy interpretation, corrective action, investigations and related compliance.  This full-time position is based in Washington, DC, reports to Director of Human Resources, includes up to 20% international travel.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Serve as functional lead on all complex employee relations cases; lead HRBPs and consult with legal as applicable.
  • Lead and manage the ER case management systems and review and create insights from data on a quarterly basis to assess where action can be taken to simplify a process, train others and ensure consistency across the organization.
  • Collaborate with HRBPs on corrective action and coaching best practices.
  • Recommends the investigative plan and action to conduct an ER investigation; where applicable, partners with Country Representatives and network member HR managers to conduct investigations.
  • At the conclusion of each investigation, documents an investigative summary letter and supporting documentation that succinctly captures the issue to be addressed, process taken to address, and recommended solutions.
  • Analyze, diagnose, design, and revise programs, policies, and practices to sustain positive employee relations.
  • Partner with various stakeholders across the business to create and sustain positive employee relations programs, trainings, best practices and communications.
  • As a trusted advisor and subject matter expert, promotes knowledge sharing regularly with the business and HR staff on ER best practices and ER matters, including application of applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures and practices related to employee relations matters.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Employment Law or related field required. HR Certification(s) and experience working with international teams strongly preferred.

The basics:

  • At least ten years of HRBP and Employee Relations experience. Must have extensive experience in leading investigations, developing ER related trainings and managing compliance programs.  
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting comprehensive employee-related investigations professionally and objectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work reactively on critical employee relations issues that are crisis-oriented and successfully completed with limited time and resources.
  • Experience working in an international context supporting a diverse workforce.
  • A high energy, thoughtful partner who sees the big picture and is comfortable getting into the details.
  • Strong analytical and influential skills to effectively resolve employee issues.
  • Has a passion for PSI’s mission, and a sense of humor to easily connect with colleagues and enhance a positive team environment.
  • Fluency (written and verbal) in English; strong preference for French fluency.
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 20%.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.  N.B. PSI will not consider work visa sponsorship for this position.
