PSI’s External Relations & Communications department is looking for someone with a global health and/or communications background to serve as an General Communications Intern, External Relations & Communications starting in May of 2018. This position is paid and part-time (25 to 29 hours a week) for 6 months.
We’re a fun, dynamic department that values our interns as integrated members of our team. Previous interns have gone on to work for the State department, Peace Corps, other NGOs, or even stayed on to become part of the PSI family!
This is a perfect position for a recent graduate to learn the inner workings of a communications team and put his or her passion for global health and international development to work. We will help you make the most of your current skills and develop new ones.
- PSIImpact.com and other publications: general research and writing for blog posts, upcoming issues of Impact magazine and a weekly news digest; assistance in maintaining the content management system for a thrice-weekly
- Communications: monitoring of media mentions and media measurement, assisting with maintenance of PSI’s website and blog, assisting with light graphic design needs, and occasionally writing or editing content or assisting with publications such as fact sheets and case
- Social Media: supporting in management of PSI social media pages, adapting current and creating sharable graphics
- General Administrative duties: taking meeting minutes, assisting with logistics regarding travel, internal and external PSI meetings, conference calls, and maintaining stock of PSI branded materials, data entry, assisting with departmental accounting needs

- Demonstrated experience with social and digital media (Facebook, Twitter, blog, content management systems)

What would get us excited?
- Graphic design experience, in both digital and print media, and excellent software skills with InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, etc.
