FHI 360 is seeking a qualified Implementation Management Lead to join the project technical team which supports the NTD program, Act to End NTDs | West, implemented by the FHI 360 consortium. This position will report to the Senior Program Director and the incumbent may manage more junior staff over time as the team builds. The position will be based in Washington, DC.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Provides leadership and technical guidance to NTD programming, ensuring high-quality support to project implementation and oversight to subcontractors’ management of project; implementation in-country, with a particular focus on quality execution of MDAs, DSAs and morbidity management and disease prevention (MMDP)-related activities;
- Work closely with disease focal points to ensure synergy among activities and approaches;
- Work closely with HSS leads to develop MMDP-specific approaches for sustainability and with technical assistance and implementing partners on development of workplans that align with WHO requirements and client needs;
- Responsible for oversight of ensuring supply chain management for commodities needed for the project are planned, budgeted and procured in a timely fashion; represent FHI360 at supply chain management meetings and participate in SCM working groups;
- Works with Operations Team to monitor project activities to ensure proper activity planning and meet client management and reporting guidelines and ensuring that the program works helps national programs identify and address issues such as low coverage or non-compliance;
- Manages relationship with clients, responding to requests for technical information, ensuring the client is informed in a timely manner regarding program challenges, grantee issues, or changes to work plans or budgets, and disseminating key results and successes.
- Provides technical guidance for annual work plan development, as well as reporting deliverables, ensuring consistency of technical approach
- Actively contributes to further FHI360’s scientific stature and promotion of project learning by presenting / publishing NTD programming findings at conferences, technical working group meetings, and peer-reviewed literature.
Educational Background:
Master’s Degree in public health or other relevant discipline
Skills/Experience:
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in international development including 5 years of progressive experience in the design, management, and M&E of donor-funded NTD programming, preferably with USAID-funded programs.
- At least 5 years’ experience working in a leadership and management role with NTD projects, preferably with USAID.
- Experience in morbidity management and disease prevention activities for NTDs
- Understanding and appreciation of country-led health or development strategies.
- Demonstrated experience analyzing data to inform project practices, knowledge of reporting procedures, best practices, WHO guidelines, and NTD tools for M&E.
- Demonstrated leadership, management, and decision-making skills.
- Technical knowledge in the implementation of NTD programs, including MMDP activities.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management, commodity procurement, logistics and distribution issues, particularly relating to mass drug administration.
- Proven track record in building successful relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders in the global health community, as well as ability to build consensus across diverse set of stakeholders.
- Ability to successfully coordinate with Ministry of Health officials, U.S. Government, donor organizations, NGOs, research institutions, and other agencies.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team-oriented setting
- Excellent English oral and written communication and presentation skills; ability to work in francophone settings is required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); ability to work in and Data Analysis and Visualization software (STATA, SPSS, ArcView) is an asset.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of time.
