PSI is seeking an experienced, dynamic Director, Human Resources to oversee PSI’s rapidly expanding portfolio. PSI’s new global strategy focuses on improving consumer powered healthcare through shaping market systems, shifting policy and funding and strengthening global capacity.
The Director, Human Resources works strategically across assigned business areas through the assisted development and execution of HR programs, policies, and solutions that help drive behaviors and attain organizational goals. The Director ensures that policies and programs are implemented consistently across organizational groups and partners with leadership to provide strategic consulting on the most complex HR issues to develop integrated solutions and communicate needs proactively with our HR department and wider organizational teams. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees. This position will also include international human resource responsibilities.

You will be:
- Responsible for day-to-day workforce relations to include ensuring that work environments and workplace practices promote a positive employee relations environment free of discrimination, harassment, or any form of unfair or unethical practice.
- Responsible for oversight of talent acquisition for assigned departments/groups to ensure that the organization sources, screens, selects, and onboards the best talent available.
- Think and act strategically. Assist the leadership team to drive initiatives and remain on the leading edge. Understand current environmental and economic issues and their impact on people.
- Conduct investigations, site assessments, and all related forms of complaints that ensure objective evaluation and resolution of issues both domestically and in partnership with HR in the field.
- Provide management with collaborative consultation on sensitive or complex employee relations issues, both for the Washington, DC HQ staff and assigned regions/countries.
- Review and monitor performance management process to ensure quality, timeliness and effectiveness for business.
- Assist with the needs assessment and determination of management and leadership training for business area.
- Provide management with collaborative consultation on sensitive or complex employee relations issues.
- Partners with the Total Rewards leader to ensure competitive pay for internal and external hires as well as to manage the communication and execution of pay for performance methodology and other aspects of our compensation philosophy.
- Partners with the Learning and Performance to implement appropriate change management, manager assimilation, team building and related tools and processes. Assimilate key talent into the organization.
- Assist managers in the design of jobs and/or facilitate the identification of core competencies and skill requirements across the business area to ensure consistency.
- Provide training and consulting in effective employee performance management practices including coaching, career development, and disciplinary actions.
- Serve as confidante, resource, and sounding board to managers and leaders.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of local legal and donor requirements related to day-to-day management of employees reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with legal department as needed/required.
- SHRM certification (SPHR or PHR) preferred.
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in management level responsibility in HR; serving in an employee relations role or other related HR capacity.
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, workplace relations, talent acquisition, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
- Understanding and experience in government contracting environment preferred.
- Knowledge of the INGO, international development environment preferred.
