The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for administrative and operational support to the overall HR department. While this position will report to the Senior Manager, Compensation & Global Mobility this role will have the opportunity to work on projects across the HR team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in building their experience in human resources, particularly in an international non-profit setting.
- Supporting regular and ad hoc HR activities related to all areas of HR including compensation, benefits, operations, compliance, and talent management. Specific duties may include benefits and allowance administration, maintaining data within the HRIS systems, generating letters and forms for various HR actions, participating in salary surveys and other benchmarking surveys, creating spreadsheets, filing documents, generating expense reports, invoice coding, and responding to employee inquires.
- Managing the logistics of meetings and events for the HR team, which may include arranging catering and meeting space, providing tech support, preparing meeting agendas and background information, and taking notes.
- Implementing special programs and events, which may include employee recognition and wellness events and job description management.
- Researching and collecting data for various HR initiatives.
- Responding to phone and email inquiries received through shared departmental inboxes; and escalates non-standard issues as needed.
- Responding to requests for employment & salary verifications.
- Other duties as assigned. We are constantly taking on new projects in order keep up with compliance requirements and best practices.
- A minimum of one year of professional work experience preferably in a fast-paced office environment.
- Some experience working in an NGO or donor funded organization preferred.
- A passion for Human Resources and Operations.
- Demonstrated experience with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with HRIS-based software/applications, specifically Lawson, preferred.
- A desire to learn, work hard, and be part of a fast-moving, collaborative team.
- Ability to anticipate departmental needs, use your creativity to problem-solve and tackle problems with enthusiasm, have excellent attention to detail, and approach tasks with innovative thinking.
- A keen sense of urgency and ability to multi-task and meet deadlines, positive mindset, and comfort with the ambiguity and pace of a dynamic organization.
