At the National Geographic Society, we believe in the power of conservation, education, research, storytelling, and technology to change the world. Our 129-year old Grants Program is the cornerstone of this work, funding bold people with innovative ideas who grow to become National Geographic Explorers. The Grants Program is divided into three themes or “Lenses” -- Changing Planet, Wildlife, and Human Journey -- and covers a wide range of disciplines. Grants also support the new National Geographic Labs, which position the National Geographic Society as a global leader in harnessing breakthrough technologies and driving innovation at scale to create a planet in balance through three labs - Exploration Technology, Geographic Visualization, and Citizen Explorer.
