Located in our Washington, DC office, this position provides administrative support to the Chief Human Resources Officer as part of the Human Resources ONE team.  Our team is committed to providing outstanding services and support to over 1,500 Save the Children staff worldwide.  The Executive Assistant will be responsible for day-to-day calendar, expense and travel management for the Chief Human Resources Officer, and will participate in department projects and initiatives around Recruitment, Employee Relations, Engagement, Benefits, Compensation and HRIS designed to provide an outstanding employee experience at Save the Children.  

Areas of Responsibility: 

Supporting VP, Human Resources

  • Provide general administrative and analytical support to the VP, HR, including travel arrangements, expense reimbursements, invoice management, meeting management, timecard approvals, calendar/appointment management, putting together presentations, analyzing, interpreting, summarizing and/or calculating data-driven reports/metrics, and special projects as needed
Educational Background: 
A minimum of a high school diploma, plus 3-4 years of relevant experience is required
Skills/Experience: 
  • Experience providing support to a department Vice President or business leader with a highly dynamic and demanding schedule
  • HR experience is a plus
  • Ability to work independently, organize and set priorities, handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot, proactively navigating through organizational processes and protocols
  • Strong analytical skills, with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong desktop computer skills, including advanced knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • Experience with expense management systems, credit card reconciliation and travel arrangement preferred.
  • Experience using conference-based technologies such as InterCall and Skype for Business
  • Highly professional interpersonal and communication skills; ability to be a positive ambassador for HR VP and HR in general
  • Ability to work with all levels of management
  • Must be highly reliable in terms of attendance and meeting deadlines
