FHI 360 is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position Early Childhood Specialist Manager based in Washington, DC.
The Office of Head Start Region XII Training and Technical Assistance (T/TA) network provides local grantees with high-quality, sustained, and intensive training and technical assistance. T/TA is provided to individual grantees, to clusters of grantees with similar interests, and at state and regional events. Region XII includes Migrant and Seasonal grantees in 37 states across the country.
The Early Childhood Specialist Manager will work with the Regional Office on short, intermediate, and long-term planning in accordance with OHS Central and Regional Office priorities and make sure they are aligned with FHI 360 policies and procedures.
- Implement a comprehensive system of quality assurance for training and technical assistance to grantees and contract deliverables related to the work of EC specialists;
- Provide ongoing supervision to EC specialists to ensure the provision of high-quality training and technical assistance;
- Develop professional development plans for EC specialists to increase their expertise and capacity for supporting the development of coaching models to build program capacity for scaling up evidence-based practices, strengthening processes for programs, and data mining with grantees to align professional development systems;
- Provide reporting of comprehensive data analysis linking regional and state TTA to OHS Central and Regional Office priorities and grantee service delivery, including an analysis of EC specialist activities as posted on HSES, trends, regional needs, and intensity/quality of TTA provision on a schedule agreed upon between the contractor and the COR;
- Participate in regional-level meetings with Head Start State Collaboration Office (HSSCO)Directors, state Child Care administrators and other state-level early childhood systems partners, as directed by the RPM; and
- Participate in national and regional briefings as well as other regional office meetings, as requested by the RPM and/or COR.
- Typically requires a minimum of 8+ years of project management, and Head Start technical and training assistance experience.
- Demonstrated experience in multi-sector project management and implementation.
- Demonstrated strategic planning, staff development and capacity building experience.
- Demonstrated talent management, strategic planning, performance management, staff development, and capacity building experience.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing complex projects that are strategic in nature and national/international in scope
- Experience working in a non-governmental organization (NGO).
- Demonstrated experience with the Office of Head Start.
- Position will require at least 50% of travel.
