Seeking a motivated and efficient Association Director of Grants and Contracts for the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington.

The Association Director of Grants and Contracts reports to the Vice President of Philanthropy, and serves as an integral member of a five-person Philanthropy team. This position supports the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington’s Branches and Program Centers in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia. The Association Director will effectively communicate the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington’s multifaceted mission through in-person and written communications to secure general operating and programmatic funding.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Responsibilities of this position include: Providing research and prospect due diligence; tracking and managing a comprehensive list of public, private, corporate and individual foundation grant and contract sources; managing the proposal development process and writing all grant opportunities and awards over $5,000; in collaboration with program directors, writing and submitting timely and accurate reports and evaluations for all existing philanthropic grants; and providing CRM management in Salesforce and Donor Search.

Educational Background: 
A minimum of three years’ experience with non-profit grant and contract writing is required; a Bachelor’s degree and fundraising certification is a plus.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Excellent skills in story-telling and presenting a case for support.
  • Excellent written communication skills: ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals, with strong editing skills, attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines, and monitor and meet income goals.
  • NOTE: Some weekend work is required for special YMCA events, and working at home and some evenings is necessary to complete assignments.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $70,000.00
