This position is critical in ensuring that Planned Parenthood's online political and advocacy content is relevant and effective, shaping the daily digital footprint of key properties while insuring that content is up-to-date. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, write, and implement interesting and engaging content and ideas for Planned Parenthood's websites, and managing key Planned Parenthood web properties.
- Conceive, write, and produce content and features for integrated digital campaigns for plannedparenthoodaction.org, IStandwithPP.org, and social networks — including web site copy, video concepts, info-graphics, etc.
- Develop strategies and innovative content to promote digital content and to grow website audiences.
- Help guide the voice in written content for various digital health properties.
- Develop and manage weekly content calendar.
- Work with digital team and colleagues from across the organization to develop strategies, content and digital tools to advance campaign goals. Incorporate SEO into written content.
- Understand and analyze the news and political environment and ensure that Planned Parenthood is keeping up with rapidly shifting online discussions and traditional media and political cycles, while constantly looking for opportunities for engaging supporters.
- Ensure all digital advocacy and political content meets campaign and organizational goals and adheres to brand guidelines.
- Measure, analyze and document the impact of Planned Parenthood web content across web channels.
- Ability to produce simple graphics for promotion on social media properties.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of substantial online content experience with political, advocacy and/or non-profit organizations.
- 2 years of online content development and execution.
- Solid understanding of search-engine optimization.
- Familiarity with online analytics platforms.
- HTML and CSS skills preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of social media, email marketing and the tools that accompany it.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills, especially for digital platforms.
- Advanced knowledge of online publishing and the use of digital technologies for communication, education and advocacy.
- Knowledge of organizing, political, and advocacy campaigns.
- Ability to handle multiple "priority" projects simultaneously and meet established deadlines.
- Ability to gain buy-in from multiple parties in a collaborative environment.
- Proven record of accomplishment of working online to organize diverse supporters and constituencies, including African-American, Latino and LGBT individuals is a plus.
- Experience building online audiences and communities.
- Basic graphic design skills a plus.
- Proven project management skills.
