The Senior Coordinator will support performance monitoring tasks for the Skills to Succeed (S2S) Program. S/he will work closely with the MEAL Specialist on developing and implementing evaluation and research studies as well as promoting program learning and accountability in each of the S2S countries and across countries. The Senior Coordinator will be responsible for knowledge management and will work with the team on internal and external communications to promote thought leadership in the youth employment field.
Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning Tasks (60%)
- Coordinate and document MEAL-related communication with the S2S country offices including Quarterly Review Calls and regular MEAL Team update calls.
- Under the supervision of the MEAL Specialist, collect and process the global and country-level program data for production of quarterly country level dashboards, bi-annual Global S2S KPI Dashboards, bi-annual donor reports, and cross-country analysis.
- Assist the MEAL Specialist in designing and implementing evaluation and research studies including conducting literature reviews, supporting the drafting of research implementation plans, and analyzing and writing up results.
- Assist the MEAL Specialist in tracking progress against MEAL work plans at the global and Country Office levels.
- Assist the MEAL Specialist in supporting the Country Offices to develop and revise their Learning for Action plans to promote internal program learning.
- Assist the Country Offices to develop methods for disseminating program results and learning to key stakeholders for improved program accountability.
- Other MEAL tasks as needed.
Knowledge Management and Capacity Building Tasks (20%)
- Improve and maintain the internal S2S filing system.
- Assist the technical team in documenting S2S processes and technical approaches for use in toolkits, work plans and reports.
- Keep track of and submit reports regarding knowledge products produced by S2S and answer queries for access to products.
- Update the S2S Resource Site monthly with relevant documents that support the learning and capacity building of country teams.
- Assist in other knowledge management activities, such as producing knowledge products, as needed.
Communications and Thought Leadership (20%)
- Under the direction of Program Director and/or Senior Program Manager, provide logistical support for internal and external S2S events, e.g., brown bag lunches, Research Summits, Annual Learning Meetings, webinars, etc.
- Under the direction of the Program Director and/or Senior Program Manager, edit the bimonthly S2S newsletter; plan editorial calendar, assign writing tasks, design layout, and ensure the newsletter is published every two months.
- Update contacts and mailing lists periodically.
- Assist the Program Director in implementing the program communications/ thought leadership plan, including producing communications assets (articles, brochures, videos, blogs, etc.) and work with partners to place them in appropriate channels, e.g., websites, social media, promoting S2S internally throughout the Save the Children movement through various channels, such as internal newsletters, websites, social media sites, meetings, etc.
- Draft program/country summaries, success stories, case studies, capability statements and/or briefs on priority topics and update DHL Past Performance Reference documents (PPRs) and trackers for fundraising or in support of thought leadership as needed.
- Provide general logistics support as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of relevant work experience in international development.
- High School diploma
- Strong analytical skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Experience in report writing, dissemination, and communication.
- Proven ability to work independently, and as part of a team.
- Proven ability to work under tight deadlines, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and work with multi-cultural teams.
- Excellent writing and communications skills in English.
- Availability to work early or late to accommodate calls with field teams in Asia.
- Willingness and availability to travel internationally up to 25%.
- Candidate must have legal right to work in the US.
Preferred Qualifications
- Work experience in monitoring and evaluation, and/or knowledge management.
- Experience in youth, livelihoods and/or youth employment programming
- Foreign language fluency in Spanish, Vietnamese, Bahasa Indonesian or Bengali.
