Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) seeks a dynamic and effective Regional Youth & Campus Organizer. Reporting to the Manager of the Youth Organizing Team, this Regional Youth & Campus Organizer will support the build, develop, and sustainability of new and existing Planned Parenthood Generation campus groups across the United States, cultivate relationships with youth organizations and affiliate partnerships in this region, and develop strategies for engaging non-college youth. This position will be based regionally to specifically support states such as Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin, Indiana, Maryland, and others. Willingness to relocate to region serviced is preferred. Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) seeks a dynamic and effective Regional Youth & Campus Organizer. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support existing affiliates and campus groups, as well as supporting outreach to colleges and universities to build new student organizing chapters.
- Build relationships with youth organizations and partners in the reproductive health, rights, and justice field in the southeast.
- Provide technical assistance and on the ground support to PP Gen chapters and affiliates, including planning and executing both national, regional, and local issue and skill-based trainings in organizing and advocacy skills as well as leadership development.
- Support and extend affiliate goals and priorities to young people and campus groups throughout the assigned region.
- Create opportunities for young people and young people of color to develop their leadership skills and hone their organizing skills.
- Work with existing peer education programs to establish relationships and create pathways for peer educators to become involved with advocacy efforts.
- Complete program administrative work as needed to process grants and payments.
- Support annual national youth organizing conferences including: Youth Leadership Retreat, Planned Parenthood Generation Action National Trainings, and regional training programs.
- Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.
- 1-3 years experience with student organizing, including diverse communities. (Student or community organizing experience counts towards years).
- Have working knowledge of key reproductive health, rights and justice issues and campus organizing strategies, policies, and campaigns.
- Solid computer and google docs (docs, spreadsheet, powerpoint) literacy.
- Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills.
- Solid organizational and administrative skills with strong attention to details.
- Commitment to the mission of Planned Parenthood and an understanding of reproductive health, rights, and justice frameworks.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, problem-resolution/negotiation and customer service skills.
- Able to work as part of a team and independently while under pressure, and handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Able to work autonomously and independently.
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, multi-task and adapt well in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Talent for organization and efficiency.
- Excellent communication (oral/written) skills and interpersonal skills.
- Unflinching commitment to exceptional work product and high ethical standards.Â
