World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the world’s leading conservation organization, seeks a Marketing Director in our Washington DC office. Creates strategy for, manages, and oversees integrated marketing programs and staff to meet WWF’s fundraising objectives. Develops, recommends, and executes annual operating strategy for a diverse group of marketing programs including multi-channel campaigns, direct mail, telemarketing, catalogs, in-person, television, member services and others as needed.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Makes recommendations, directs and oversees preparation of the annual direct marketing budget and monitors monthly progress and adjustments to it. Provides and executes strategies for achieving budgeted goals.
  • Works within Marketing team to create strategy for and oversee implementation of integrated and multi-channel marketing and fundraising campaigns. Collaborates with colleagues across Marketing & Communications to innovate and plan these campaigns.
  • Ensures that fundraising and marketing campaigns are integrated and coordinated with fulfilment, revenue processing, member services and other teams in Marketing & Communications to ensure optimal revenue potential and program communications support.
  • Oversees the strategic relationships for key external vendors – and empowers staff to own and manage their direct vendor relationships.      
  • Monitors creative, technical, and other trends in the fundraising and direct marketing fields, recommends institutional responses for compliance, and works with staff, including the Office of the General Counsel, to develop and/or update collateral and documentation where appropriate.
  • Plays an active role in the successful operation of the Marketing Department and mentors staff and inspires colleagues to achieve common goals.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree is required with at least 10 years of experience in marketing that includes significant revenue/customer growth and innovation.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Proven track record of success in launching new initiatives, advancing testing ideas and achieving new revenue goals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong team-building, motivational and leadership skills.
  • Strong budgeting, planning and Excel skills.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task; establish priorities; and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must enjoy working on, and be highly adaptable to, a wide range of marketing programs.
  • Must have an entrepreneurial approach to testing new ideas.
