Summary Statement
The Associate Account Director (AAD) is a member of the Account Management team reporting to the Head of Account Management who leads assigned client projects. In this role, he/she works directly with clients and manages internal Agency teams to ensure that client campaign objectives and deliverables are met. This individual should be able to work independently with minimal supervision, and he/she must be able to draft and provide strategic recommendations, points of view and marketing strategies & tactical plans to clients.
Responsibilities
The AAD is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Collaborates with the Head of Account Management for campaign planning (presentations, proposals, POVs, etc.) – but should essentially be able to lead the development with input from other team members
- Ensures that the strategy is met across campaign deliverables and that all internal teams understand the strategy; he/she needs to be the main communicator of this information and keep all team leads up to date on account business
- Leads campaign and project delivery (development of creative briefs and project plans); while not expected to manager the following directly, he/she must be able to manage Account Executives and Project Managers
- Manages client communication (Writes meeting notes for internal and client meetings, receive client revisions and pens project change forms, etc)
- Monitors and provides financial management information which includes statement of work development, forecasting, projections, etc.
- Builds and manages holistic marketing campaigns inclusive of multiple channels, measurement and reporting, sophisticated targeting and modelind and creative messaging; Manages project timelines and budgets to limit scope creep
- Collaborates with Data and Analytics to review and analyze market research findings and campaign results to provide insights and implications relative to client needs
- Owns, leads, builds and strengthens client relationships
- Maintains communications with appropriate agency and client personnel to ensure that assigned work is handled in a positive, timely and efficient manner.
- Must have very strong communication, collaboration and diplomatic skills to ensure that all teams throughout the agency work together – must be good at building internal agency relationships as well
- While not expected to manage the following directly, the individual should have a good understanding of agency creative development process, print production, broadcast, etc.
Requirements
· A minimum of 5+ years of experience in account management
· A minimum of 2+ years of experience in direct marketing
· Bachelor’s degree or higher from a four year accredited college or university
· Experience managing multi-channel marketing campaigns and offline/digital techniques
· Ability to accurately identify the elements of a problem and generate appropriate solutions
· Excellent relationship building, negotiating and influencing skills
· Ability to establish priorities and objectives, to gather, classify, categorize information to meet deadlines
· The ability to use sound and logical judgment to come up with solutions to problems
· Ability to take initiative with direction and develop solutions without direction from others on assigned projects
· Ability to deliver concise and accurate oral presentations and communications.
· Excellent written communication skills
· Agency experience required.
