The Organizing and Engagement Campaigns Department is seeking a Youth Organizing Associate Director to lead the Planned Parenthood Generation Youth Organizing Team. Reporting to the Director of Constituency Organizing, this role will be focused on executing our national youth strategy across the federation and connecting youth organizing with existing coalition partners in support of the broader effort within PPFA to establish a reputation as an organization committed to youth engagement and youth organizing. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Direct the overall organizing and political strategy for youth programming with the CXO division and PP Action Fund in consultation with National Organizing Director, Senior Organizing Team Members and the Campaigns Team.
  • Manage national youth organizing managers and iDefy program manager to achieve their yearly goals.
  • Establish relationships with local and national organizations and partners to further the work of the Planned Parenthood Youth Organizing and Leadership programs.
  • Design and execute trainings for Planned Parenthood young leaders in organizing and advocacy skills as well as leadership development.
  • Oversee the management of PPFA's Youth Leadership programs including the Young Leaders Advisory Council, Youth Rising: Community of Color Engagement Program, iDefy and the Global Youth Advocacy Fellows.
  • Lead annual national youth organizing conferences including the Young leaders Summit, Youth Organizing & Policy Conference, and Youth Organizing & Policy Institutes.
  • Support the development, management, and execution of social media strategies and PP Gen Action properties to engage young people.
  • Develop electoral campaigns and strategies for engaging young people in every election cycle.
  • Provide leadership for national initiatives for engaging our newest generation of young people in special programing.
  • Provide detailed written and oral reports to funders and donors for youth programming.
  • Manage budgets and fiscal responsibility of program expenses. 
REQUIREMENTS / TECHNICAL EXPERTISE
  • 3 - 5 years experience relevant experience.
  • 2-3 years of management experience, remote management experience preferred.
  • Experience in developing strategic and tactical plans, projects and programs.
  • Excellent communication, writing, editing, research and organizational skills.
  • Strong racial analysis and equity lens within the progressive movement and workplace.
  • Experienced in creation and implementation of rapid response campaigns and field plans; including large scale events, advocacy campaigns and education campaigns.
  • Computer literate, social media and technologically savvy.
PERSONAL QUALITIES /OTHER ATTRIBUTES
  • Background in organizing diverse, multicultural work and youth populations.
  • Able to create consensus among diverse constituencies whilst keeping organizational priorities in focus.
  • Passionate, entrepreneurial approach to work.
  • Strong knowledge of key reproductive health rights and justice issues.
  • Able to work autonomously and in teams including key partners.
