Reporting to the Manager, Helpline & Community Referrals, this position is responsible for the delivery of care consultation programs, primarily in the Greater Boston area. This core service helps family caregivers identify, prioritize and implement the steps that help them take more control of their situations. As a volunteer driven organization, all staff are expected to recruit, cultivate, support and manage volunteer relationships to advance the mission of the Alzheimer's Association. Travel throughout Massachusetts and evening and weekend work is occasionally required.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Provide education, guidance and support to families on issues related to Alzheimer’s disease in person, phone and/or email, as needed, including providing timely:
- Written individualized care plans, as follow-up to all Level 2 Care Consultations
- Follow-inquiries with clients
- Support the services that make up the overall family care effort, including:
- Responding to Helpline calls and provide support to Helpline program as needed, maintaining timely documentation of client contacts and histories in the database
- Training and assisting relevant volunteers
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field, Master’s or LICSW preferred
Skills/Experience:
- 2 years’ experience in the field of aging and Alzheimer’s care
- Demonstrated success working with volunteer-led programs
