The AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION (AHA) has an excellent opportunity for a PROJECT COORDINATOR in our NATIONAL CENTER office located in WALTHAM, MA .

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Provide project coordination and administrative assistance to the Science Publishing department.
  • Coordinates publishing procedures to assist in AHA strategic goal of rapid dissemination of scientific information.
  • Interact with volunteers and staff to ensure timelines and deadlines are met.
  • Work with other Office of Science Operations (OSO) and AHA departments to meet deptartment goals.
  • Understand and implement appropriate AHA systems to ensure integrity of publications.
  • Working knowledge of budgets with a conscious effort to contribute to budget goals of department.
Educational Background: 
High School Diploma or GED
Skills/Experience: 
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in a related administration role.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service to internal/external customers and volunteers. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of financial systems (E-1, COI, Seibel, etc.).
  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize work assignments, manage/monitor multiple projects, and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to function independently with minimal supervision and be a contributor to the publishing team.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with ability to initiate projects and be pro-active; attention to detail; provide follow-through and devise alternative solutions as necessary.
