This role will coordinate global mobilisations for World Vision’s campaign It takes a world to end violence against children. The successful applicant will be responsible for the continued operation of the campaign within World Vision’s fundraising offices (Support Offices) and driving an integrated approach.

The Advisor will also work with core external facing teams on other public engagement opportunities (global advocacy, emergency, fundraising and reputation-building campaigns) to bring attention to World Vision’s mission, build trust in its development and humanitarian work and inspire action.

The successful applicant will further work with the Director of Public Engagement to establish and execute a partnership-wide Public Engagement strategy. This will involve providing strategic input and direction to ensure integration between global engagement priorities and marketing, as well as leading key projects and moments within the team plan.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Strategy and Coordination:

  • Work with the Director to coordinate the development and execution of a partnership-wide Public Engagement strategy.

Global Mobilisation:

  • Lead major global campaign mobilisations, ensuring a strong cross-organisational plan grounded in policy and oversee activities across partnership offices.

Public Campaigning:

  • Ensure Public Engagement priorities are integrated into the strategic plans and activities of all other externally facing teams.

Support/Fundraising Office Liaison:

  • Engages offices in key public engagement opportunities and oversees their participation in the It takes a world campaign - providing support, guidance and training where necessary.
Educational Background: 
Undergraduate degree in a relevant area i.e. politics, campaigns, communications, international development.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Experience running nationally or globally significant advocacy and/or marketing campaigns. Demonstrates a solid understanding of theory of change methodologies.
  • At least eight years’ experience working in an advocacy campaigning role – with demonstrable knowledge of public engagement channels.
  • At least five years’ experience working in a cross-cultural, multi-office environment – with experience of coordinating multi-country actions.
  • Demonstrated understanding of strategy development, mobilisation tactics and tracking impact.
  • Effective in written and verbal communication in English.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Understanding of child rights policy issues.
  • Training in fundraising tactics.
  • Digital communications knowledge and experience.
  • Familiarity with NGO office operations and processes.
  • Project management proficiency.
  • Applied project management experience.

Work Environment/Travel:

  • The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time.
