Vice President Development Innovation & Participant Revenue

The VP DEVELOPMENT INNOVATION & PARTICIPANT REVENUE is responsible for the strategic direction of the AHA's Innovation Incubator and acting as the lead champion for driving innovation throughout the development/fund-raising arm of AHA. Responsible for leading a business dedicated within the AHA where new fund-raising ideas can be created, tested, and perfected decreasing their "time to market". Responsible for driving the strategy around peer to peer fund-raising events including marketing and field implementation strategies to increase acquisition and retention of participants and donors. This position also manages the Director of Innovation.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Develop the overall strategy for reimaging peer to peer fund-raising events; develop overall marketing and field implementation strategies and tactics to increase acquisition and retention of participants. Works closely with internal and external stakeholders to drive strategy and provide oversight to projects like Heart Walk refresh
  • Develop and execute breakthrough funding models or strategies. Recruits, manages and inspires staff in the field to design, test and "roll out" to the enterprise new fund-raising opportunities and campaigns
  • Recruit a national Innovation committee made up of C-suite executives, specifically Chief Innovation Officers and Chief Marketing Officers as well as others that can drive innovation and breakthrough thinking
  • Ensure the success of CycleNation by directly managing CycleNation Director and ensuring revenue goals are met
  • Provide ongoing peer-to-peer consultation, situational assessment, and development of short- and long-range plans and best practices. Ensure consistent and coordinated strategies and messaging across Heart Walk, Heart Ball, Go Red for Women, Workplace Giving, Corporate Relations, and Corporate Volunteerism
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related area
Skills/Experience: 
  • 8-12 years experience in roles of similar focus and capacity
  • Experience in various methods and successful track record in event-based fund-raising including marketing and sponsorship
  • Experience developing creative business solutions for driving revenue
  • Employee development and management
  • Strong presentation and training skills and prior experience presenting to C-Level Executives
  • Computer analytics and customer experience
  • Ability to travel up to 50% local and overnight stay
