Sr. National Director, Fundraising - Innovation & Growth Initiatives

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Develops the comprehensive strategic plan for innovation initiatives, which includes strong case for expansion/implementation, organization of campaign standards, specific revenue, retention and recruitment targets, volunteer leadership development plans, participant cultivation visits/events and communication, budgets, timelines, logistics and marketing for each event/campaign.
  • Intense consultation and strategic guidance to support select events (i.e. Big Climb), including responsibility for ensuring KPI’s are met in the field.
  • Partner with RVPs, EDs, and chapter staff to identify, develop and cultivate market expansion for key innovation and growth initiatives.
    • (i.e. Grow Big Climb from 7 markets raising $7M to 20+ markets raising $15M+ within 3 years)
  • Lead development & implementation of a process for the identification & cultivation of innovative revenue driving opportunities with a strong return on investment.
  • Oversee Leukemia Cup Regatta (LCR) product lead, to further refine organizational campaign standards, and model/coach these behaviors to strengthen the management of high level volunteers, revenue generation activities, and logistics resulting in product/market revenue growth.
  • Identify target audiences and build appropriate recruitment and fundraising strategies to successfully recruit, acknowledge, and retain and upgrade event donors/participants.
  • In concert with chapter staff and EDs, develops relationships with key volunteer leadership and fundraising participants to elevate and maximize revenue impact, and participant in key volunteer meetings to drive campaign standard outcomes.
  • Produce forecasting and projections reports by evaluating the effectiveness of the on-going fundraising campaign(s), including fundraising efficiency (cost/expense), community engagement, campaign/event satisfaction, and overall success of the campaign.
  • Completes national campaign projects under the direction of the national SVP of Special Events as assigned including, but not limited to, national tool development and updates, data collection and analysis, national trainings, etc.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the LLS’s mission and programs to promote LLS’s fundraising, research and patient initiatives. Ensures that the LLS mission is integrated throughout the nation to tie fundraising efforts and volunteer impact.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Non Profit Management or Communication preferred.
Skills/Experience: 
  • 10+ years’ experience in non-profit fundraising, sales, marketing, community organization, volunteer development /leadership or corporate development.
  • Prefer: 10+ years of progressively responsible related experience with a minimum of 4 years in senior management (i.e. Executive Director Role) successfully overseeing large team with variety of leadership responsibilities and priorities.

  • May be required to move items weighing up to 15 pounds for various events.
  • Travel 50 to 75%.
  • Required to work evenings and/or weekends.
