Specialist - My.Habitat Publisher

This job is no longer available

Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is seeking candidates to fill 5 Specialist - My.Habitat Publisher positions. My.Habitat is one of the most critical tools Habitat entities have at their disposal to learn, share, and improve; the platform also plays a vital role in communications for the network. Nearly 90% of affiliates use My.Habitat, and nearly every service offered by HFHI to its entities identifies My.Habitat as a primary communication channel.

Areas of Responsibility:
  • Over the next year, My.Habitat will undergo a tremendous upgrade in terms of strategy, content, and technology. In the nearer term, the Collaborative Operating Model has committed to affiliate-facing improvements that, by July 2018, will demonstrate stronger speed, better search and more relevant content. This latter investment is part of the “quick wins” associated with the US Support Model.
  • Publishers have always played a critical role in My.Habitat, working with program area Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure appropriate content is created, organized, published and maintained within this environment. Over the years, in service of new content for users, the number of publishers has grown tremendously, to over 100 individuals across HFHI. While this has driven content creation, it has also made consistency and relevancy of content challenging.
  • In service of near- and longer-term ambitious goals for My.Habitat, HFHI is piloting a different staffing model predicated on a small and innovative cadre of publishers who lead the development of My.Habitat’s new content model. My.Habitat’s leadership team has realized—with considerable input from publishers—that operating with a smaller number of dedicated publishers is an experiment worth pursuing.
