Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is seeking a Specialist - Mortgage Support. In light of tremendous changes to mortgage lending and mortgage compliance regulations in recent years, HFHI has already made a deep investment in better supporting affiliates on these changes. As HFHI ramps up toward a mortgage product that would be available to all affiliates in the next few years, we need to continue to invest in Mortgage Procedures And Regulations (MPAR) to ensure that affiliates are remaining compliant on the ground. MPAR resources have been very well received by affiliates and the supports are in high demand.
This position would be responsible for the development and facilitation of training, technical assistance, and other support programs for the network of Habitat for Humanity affiliates in the area of origination and servicing of residential mortgages. To a lesser extent, this position will assist with consulting services to affiliates in the area of homeowner selection and compliance.
- Contribute to the HFHI team that designs, rolls out and provides ongoing administration of training and technical assistance relating to residential mortgage lending regulations and procedures
- Provide consulting services to affiliates.
- Assist affiliates in improving their homeowner selection and support practices to ensure compliance with federal and state requirements while meeting strategic and programmatic goals
- Deliver training workshops to both HFHI departments and HFH affiliates on mortgage-related topics. Venues may include live conference calls and webinars, state conferences, national/global conferences
- Identify changes in affiliate practices needed to implement regulatory changes related to mortgage origination, support and compliance
- 2-3 years related work experience required
- Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory requirements for mortgage lending including servicing
- Experience in delivering training, coaching and consulting
- Experience in residential mortgage banking/servicing
- Understanding of the Habitat for Humanity mission
- Outstanding people skills
- Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, and public presenting (including PowerPoint and online meetings)
- Aptitude in working on virtual teams
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Willingness to grow and learn new skills
