Project Coordinator, Grassroots

We have an excellent opportunity for a Project Coordinator, Grassroots in our National Centeroffice in Washington, DC (Remote/Home Based is acceptable) .

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Assist digital managers with reporting and evaluation metrics, set-up and execution of regular email communications to advocates, and ad hoq training and support for field staff in online advocacy systems.
  • Responsible for implementing content on web platforms using CMS tools in addition to maintaining and organizing content on the internal site, SharePoint.
  • Support federal lobby events by serving as direct liaison between AHA staff, volunteers, departments and teams for stipend program, lobby day logistics and registration.
  • Support state lobby day and fly-in events, assisting with scheduling, registration, materials and event logistics.
  • Administrative responsibilites include data entry, mailings, meeting logistics including conference assistance, budget tracking, invoice payment, and managing external vendors.
  • Provides customer services to AHA staff and volunteers with general inquiries.
  • Provides written content for various communications to advocates including AHA blog, e-newsletters, social media posts, training how to’s.
  • Assist with the development and branding for program materials utilized by AHA staff and volunteers.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Demonstrated proficiency/experience in advanced use of Microsoft Word, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Demonstrated proficiency/experience in utilizing data to run queries and produce charts/reports.
  • Excellent analysis skills and conceptual ability; ability to work independently.
  • Experience in utilizing web technology and maintaining/updating web pages using CMS tools.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to juggle multiple projects.
  • Excellent proofreading skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to adjust to changing priorities.
  • Experience working on healthcare issues, particularly in the policy arena.

Here are some of the preferred skills we are looking for:

  • Knowledge of online advocacy software tools, specifically Phone2Action and Nationbuilder.
  • Knowledge of legislative process and experience working in government relations.
  • Experience with community organizing and volunteer management.
