Online Strategies Consultant

The primary responsibility of the Online Strategies Consultant is to drive online strategies on multiple platforms for the Affiliate through the partnership with Development and Field Staff. This position will ensure high performance outcomes from our online event management tools. The position is responsible for deliverables/key metrics related to AHA’s use of Luminate/TeamRaiser and other fundraising tools such as our mobile app and social media platforms. This position also manages the Development Support Team which provides customer support to internal staff and external customers. Helping Staff integrate online fundraising and donor relationship management is a key responsibility. It is expected that 70% of this person’s time would be spent coaching and implementation of online strategies and 30% in administrative work.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • In-depth knowledge of existing tools and capable of providing training, documentation and recommendations for integration with business processes.
  • Manage Development Support Staff which includes setting priorities, oversee online chat tool, reporting and coordinating call projects with the National Engagement Team.
  • Intermediate/expert understanding and working knowledge of online fundraising management tools.
  • Capable of providing first hand technical enhancements and workarounds to support shortfalls between the existing tools and the defined organizational business processes.
  • Capable of communicating technically and strategically with internal staff in the development of the vision and the alignment of resources and structure to support the strategy.
  • Develop baseline metrics and coordinate the deployment and follow-up for measuring progress and driving strategic results.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum two years management experience
  • Customer related application experience including online fundraising systems
  • Knowledge and skills in fundraising principles, practices and techniques
  • Ability to lead a team but also to work independently
  • Ability to apply sound judgment and problem-solving skills to conflicts
  • Skill in making presentations to large and small audiences
  • Ability to write clear and concise narratives
  • Ability and willingness to travel and to work evenings and weekends on occasion
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office tools and databases
